ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Hey Folks,

How are we going to know what is real?

Was what I just wrote…was it written by a machine?

Is the movie star on screen real or an image generated by a machine?

Will the images on our newscasts be true to reality?

Will war be fought through analysis by humans or machine?

Scary!!!

What's more scary is not knowing who you're dealing with online. Catfishers, tinder, etc. it's getting extremely user-friendly in guise. And then the government takes away the net. Good. Technology controlling every aspect. Root of evil that's connected to a big root, 💸. Shut it down while you're young. Perhaps we are beyond that realm of things and like the dependency.  A cyber black out would somehow be a warm welcome when you've been doing this since 1997 and see it getting worse and more unreliable. Artificial Intelligence is a joke. I was never asked if it was okay by me to be a part or it, it's now just being thrown in there, by force.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of machines to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. AI encompasses a wide range of technologies and approaches, from machine learning to deep learning, and is used in numerous applications, from digital assistants to self-driving cars.

There is a men's group at the retirement center where I live at and we have topics like AI. We all agreed that was much to learn. We are going to review the adavacmen of the system in 6 months.

The public will have to address this issue a lot sooner than six months from now based on the speed at which A.I. is evolving, @DaveMcK .

Many issues have to be resolved.

A.I. could be the greatest thing that has happened to humankind or it can also be the catalyst that is the beginning of the end of humankind.

Musk is building the largest AI right here. The place he is putting it is in the old part of town in a poor area. Some people are fighting it by saying it will pollute the air and water in the area. Nothing being said about it being the beginning of the end.

We all grew up in the time frame of when mankind made it's biggest step's to improve our life's. How many times have we seen and heard, "It is going to be the end of the human race."?

it will be just like nuclear power, in the right hands it's great, not so much when the bad people have it.

You must be talking about “Colossus” in Memphis - We have another one going in Atlanta - Fulton County, GA.

It is really interesting where this will be going in the not so distant future.  But it really is the beginning of the FUTURE - the new age future.  I’m excited to see as much of it as I can.

That isn't what it is called here. XAI and billed as the largest in the world. They are going (suppose) to build it's own water treatment plant just so they don't have to use Memphis's. Plus they are going to pay for it and let Memphis use it.  Also a big deal on how much power it is going to use. TVA is suppose to make major adjustments in getting more power to Memphis.

Anyway, every week a group of people put on a protest about something. Is this happening in Atlanta? The person leading the protest is one of those Tenn. 3 from a couple of years ago.

My guess is the biggest reason for the protest is because of who owns it, Musk.

@papawofboo

I think Memphis may have (2) spots - one close to BoxTown and another around Whitehaven.

This was in the news last month -

NBC NEWS 05/15/2025 Up against Musk's Colossus supercomputer, a Memphis neighborhood fights for clea...

I haven’t heard too much about the one in Atlanta - although BIG - I just haven’t heard any controversy - not to say it is not there - maybe there is just too much other stuff going on to fit it in somewhere.

Now that I am researching this - yea, I will say there is a BIG controversy in Memphis about it - Gonna put Memphis on the map !Q

The 2nd site is for the water treatment plant. I think?

Yea, Memphis has a way of getting national attention, just don't get it for low crime or high grades.

Anyway, this is black city and county leaders against an upstart black state rep. I'm just sitting back and enjoying the show.

Maybe all this controversy in Memphis about the sites has made it so that the location here in Atlanta is somewhat of a secret - it says Fulton County - that’s where Atlanta is located but I cannot find exactly where it is.

Even Musk has "joked" that, in the wrong hands, A.I. could have the result of TERMINATOR II- JUDGEMENT DAY. We are not that far from making that scenario a reality. We must tread carefully in this area.

@nctarheel

I think currently the big controversy is who is gonna “control” it and make the rules - States or Feds - if it is like other things, it will just end up being a big fight between them and with rules that actually counteract each other.

All good questions, and I don't have a clue as to what the correct answer is or will be in the future. I know this, and I have lived by this and will live by it until the end. "I'm going to trust my gut feeling."

Let's hope that the people in charge of these machines are smart enough to check and make sure the OFF button works.
