I own three sets of jacks and challenge my "little" sister when we meet at my mother's house.  Pity: my nieces and nephews never could get the hang of it.

My ironing skills sucked with or without this.

โ€ฆ..sitting here sipping my morning coffee and I saw this post and smiled.

I dislike ironing!  It is my least favorite chore and I lose patience with it very quickly.  Any chore - scrubbing the shower door water spots off with vinegar/baking soda, shoveling snow, cleaning the dryer vent - all pale in comparison with ironing!  Good thing Iโ€™m not an Edwardian Ladyโ€™s maid! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Everyone reading this - have a great day and only do the chores that you feel like doing! ๐Ÿ˜‡

We had a flour sifter at my mother's house, but now I use a long handled sifter/strainer that has multiple uses.

Does anyone sift flour anymore?  Is it necessary?  (Me -- not a baker.)

I am not a baker either.  I only periodically bake, which means my flour often sits for over a month.  While I have a sifter, I donโ€™t use it anymore.  I cheat and use a whisk! ๐Ÿ˜Š

So far - no lumps - no disasters.

It used to be so important, now most likely you will never see another one. Gone down the same road as the Marlboro Man.

I never liked that cartoon.

Be honest, did you hang up? Me? not always๐Ÿ˜‚

It wasn't the trip to the tv, it was the "While your up" that was the problem.

That rotor dial was so much better than waiting on "Number Please."

My first Mr. Potato Head had plastic body parts/accessories that you used on a real potato that was provided by Mom.  We also used apples and pears.

Then a new Mr. Potato Head came out with a plastic โ€œpotatoโ€ body provided with the accessories.  I remember that I liked using the real potato better because my imagination wasnโ€™t curtailed by the pre-ordained placement of slots/holes on the plastic potato! ๐Ÿ˜‡

Our grandfather terrified us with that thing every Thanksgiving!  He couldn't wait to plug it in and start cutting.  I mean, carving.

These things have stood the test of time. My wife gave me one for a b/day present a few years ago. Didn't have the design on it though. I paid big dollars for a set of real good knives, and she bought this. Never have or will ever like these things, just don't tell her.

Yup! ๐Ÿ˜€ This was a kitchen staple -  along with avocado-colored appliances, Tupperware, a Fondue pot, and an under-the-counter bottle opener!

Speaking of bottle openers, did you all have a church key?

Oh gosh!  Pointy on one end to make the triangular hole in the can and the other end lifted the bottle cap off?
