Just got off the phone with Medicare after calling them to "verify" a Virtual Appointment with my gyn on 9/1 will be PAID.
Of course as expected, hospital had NO idea.
โก๏ธ[*** Happy to say they REinstated "paying" until DECEMBER 2026. Grateful = saves me gas!!! ๐
โก๏ธ[*** I need to CALL them AGAIN once I hopefully get the Procedure Code for my Hospital Biopsy (9/15 or 9/24).
The "biopsy" they tried to do in her office LAST year 2025 of course was COVERED last year. ๐ But at age 67, my cervix decided to "close". Weird indeed. ๐ค
โก๏ธ[*** Asked their hours to SPEAK TO A HUMAN. The lady said 24/7. Lol, I had to CONFIRM as I am so used to the "annoying" AI. Yes, it is true!!! The trick is to get PASS THE AI 1st. I keep replying to it = Customer Service Representative. Transfered me about after 3 questions. ๐
THE HOLD TIME IS STILL FOREVER. Mine was 10 minutes, but I put call on SPEAKERPHONE while I did chores. Still HATE calling them but DONOT want any bills arriving in my mailbox.
Nicole!
You can just look up the coverage on the Medicare .gov site -

Yes you are CORRECT Gail @GailL1 , but as the very "nice & helpful" Medicare lady said on phone today - it depends!
Lol, I am SO BROKE these days & DONOT need anymore bills.
I rather get the PROCEDURE CODE for her to "verify" they will cover it.
Next will be Cataract Surgery in a few years my yearly Eye Doctor told me.
Getting old Gail./lol ๐
Nicole!

Yes, we are all getting old but since you have Original Medicare, this is not difficult to check.
1. Medicare covers things that are medically necessary
2. you make sure that your doc of whatever type take Medicare Assignment - this should be on their Medicare locator site
3. If a Part B service, you have met your deductible for the year
I remember you had said before that you have LIS (Extra Help) on Medications. So maybe I just assumed that you also has a Medicare Savings Program that paid your Part B premiums for you also - AND most specifically the QMB program (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) which pays the premium as well as the co pays, deductibles and any coinsurance.
Here is a list of the different ones and their eligibility limits

If you have one of the other programs - sorry that I misspoke.

Dear Gail @GailL1 , I rather call Medicare than read a bunch of paperwork but I do appreciate what you are saying. I got the Procedure Code from my gyn this morning. Will call Medicare sometime next week. As far as what help I have, has nothing to do with my preferring to call Medicare. So I will not respond to that part of your post. We all have bills & some of us rather not add any if we can help it. Have a GREAT weekend, Nicole ๐
