Hi Agnes or Aggie, which ever you prefer
I hope your Sunday with family was just as pleasant as ever. Gloomy day so it would be nice to have some laughs and good food.
In the process of doing spring cleaning.. I guess ahead of time. One room at a time.. then rest..then move on. At this age I don't push myself.
This is the day I make phone calls to see how everyone is doing. So that should keep me busy for awhile...My son will call later and we chat about this and that. He calls every day. Probably to see what kind of trouble I got into. Never a dull moment.
Later I will make something to eat and I guess watch a Netflix or Amazon show. Time to relax.
Take care,
Marianne

Hi. Have tried a couple of timedo post to you. The site has issues.
I'm glad you are doing well. It is so nice that you call friends on
Sunday we all need to do that. Just been very busy. I want a cat!
After viewing about 200 on line, I want like all of them.Lol One was
named Simon & Garfunkel! Do you have any cats or dogs? I like both.
Pets are lots of fun. I like mysteries but I like thrillers more. Who-
ever can tell the best story has my vote! Take care of yourself

Hi Aggie,
Finally a human being.. I felt like I was talking to myself. I have not had any problems with this site. I put pen pals into my favorites and it pops up.. no signing in all the time.
Well, I finally got my living room ready for Spring.. wasn't easy ... too much clutter. Where I got the energy from I don't know. I get it in spurts and take advantage when it comes.
Yes, I love animals of all kinds. I used to collect Pandas but that got out of hand. They are cute. Then it was wolves. I think they are beautiful. Not too many of them, thank goodness.
When my son was young, we got him a puppy but soon found out he was allergic to it. We found a good home for it afterwards. My mom had a white cat and she had kittens. My son used to play with them and had no problems. So we adopted two. Had them for about 9 years, Meanwhile, Tiger got out and low and behold we had kittens. Found homes for most we kept one. Fester. Fester was the last of our cats. She was attached to my son, like a kid. Followed him everywhere in the house. Even sat at the bathroom door while he bathed. At 13 she developed cancer. I can not count the number of vets my son took her to, to make sure the diagnosis was correct. He didn't want to give up on her. But the time was necessary. So he had her cremated and she is buried. My daughter volunteered at a shelter. Was a foster parent to new born kittens. Animal lover that she is , she adopted most of them. When I visited I would have burning eyes, trouble breathing. I could not believe that I became allegic to animals after all that I had. Till today I have problems with that. So sorry to say, I do not have pets. Although, 2 years ago my landlord called me to tell me that there were 4 kittens in the yard, no mother around. They were about 5 days old. Big hearted me took them in. Up all night feeding them. Using sprays to help me breath. At 8 weeks I was able to find a shelter to take in 3 and my son adopted one. I was so depressed to see them go... my heart broke... I got so attached to them. I was lucky enough to find out from the shelter who took in two of the kittens. I was told they were the most loving kittens and I did a good job with them. The new parents sent me pictures of the two adopted ones. It made me feel better. I get to see the one my son adopted. Out of the bunch he turned out to be a Coon cat. Big ball of fur.

Hi TB,
I would not consider you a crazy cat lady. I know of one and that is my daughter, lol. When she you younger she wanted to become a veterinarian . Instead she became a Social Worker for over 30 years. Still with a love for animals, she volenteered at a shelter. They would give her newborn kittens to foster. Some with medical problems. She nursed them to be as healthy as could be. Some still have medical issues. Falling in love with each and every one she adopted them. Now they are senior animals. In total she has 11 cats and two abandoned dogs. One dog is blind and deaf ( I guess the reason he was abandoned) and the other one is younger and quite a hand full. Thank goodness she has room for them . But.. it does cost a lot of money to provide for them Her hubby is a good guy and does most of the cleaning up. And so, she is my crazy cat lady.. ha ha ha.
Yes, I guess you read my post about fostering kittens and that my son adopted the coon one. I used to have cats, for years, but as I got older I became allergic to animals. I still go near them at my daughter's and they all want to be petted , and so I do.
I live in the southern part of NYC. Today is a beautiful sunny day. for a change. It gives me energy to do things around the house. I always keep busy, things need to be done. Never bored, that is for sure.
I haven't heard much from this Pen Pal site and glad you reached out.
Take care,
Marianne.

I read your post. Yes, the weather has been funny this Winter. Living in the South (Alabama), I have a medium weight coat, a light jacket, a sweater jacket. Sigh! The weather changes constantly here from day to day!
Movies...I don’t see enough movies that I want to see because the theater is 50 miles away!! I sm more into music now.
I am an Amazon Music subscriber, so I listen every day to new music.
I seem to have run out of letters, so I’ll end this letter now.
Bye

Hi Je,
Like you I am new to this. Just would like to say hello from cold NYC. If you would like to chat about anything that comes to mind just shout out. I also subscribe to Amazon. I watch the movies and take advantage of the free shipping on orders. Good deal. Netflix is another place I go to for movie watching. I like music but I have my list of oldies on my computer that I listen to.
If interested , just get in touch,

Hi Lillian,
I like to talk about any thing that comes to mind. What happened during the day.. shopping, family gatherings, weather. I like to play online games in Pogo. Have you heard of that site? I subscribe to Amazon. Watch movies and buy things from there. I also subscribe to Netflix for their movies. I really do not have any hobbies. I just keep busy doing household chores. Always something to do or organize. I guess I would consider myself a night owl.
Your turn, 🙂

I use to play at Pogo a lot. I like Amazon myself for shopping and movies; I have been a member of Netflix for ever. I like that I can watch a whole year straight through. I watch the movie Megan Leavey a week ago it was worth watching.
I am still working so I can not stay up late, I keep saying I will stop working next year well I will be 70 this year and I am still working. Myself I get up very early even on the weekends. I agree that there is always something to organize. I am so looking forward to spring !
Enjoy,
Lillian

Hi Lillian,
When it comes to Amazon and Netflix I like who-dun-its. Like you, I can watch weeks worth of those shows, without commercials. Oh.. those commercials just annoy me. Too many all at once. Very little show, lots of ads. One of my favorite shows is Midsummer Murder. Right now, on Amazon I have been watching The Silent episodes.
I am addicted to Bingo Luau, Word Whomp and some solitaire on Pogo. Those are my go to games when it's the end of the evening. That is when I turn on my computer and relax before bedtime. I always was a night owl because in my younger days I worked a few hours nightly when my children were small. The habit stuck with me years later. I had friends I met in Pogo that came from different parts of the country. So when East Coast friends left the West Coast friends were just starting. I will tell you more about those friends later on.
It sure is cold here and more to come, or so the Weatherman says. We have been lucky in my part of the city. We get snow but not as bad as other parts. Heavy rain is predicted for Sunday. We shall see. I heard somewhere if you want to know what the weather is like.. look out the door... and carry an umbrella.
I hope your dreams of retiring soon comes true for you.
Marianne.

are making new friends. Only been on this site for a week and I think
the people are friendly. Single, never married young looking 70 year old.

Agnes,
No, my husband and I were not able to have children. Since we were both teachers, we would say we got 150 new teachers every year! LOL!
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2000, so it is good that we moved to the warmth of TX. Even when our temps drop into the40's I am really hurting. We put an exercise swimming pool a few years ago and I love getting out in the pool every day to keep myself limber.
I also love to garden. Spent time earlier today planting, 4 geraniums, 8 sweet assylum, 8 dianthus and 20 red and pink begonias.
I also have fun taking care of my two pups. They have kept me sane through Tim's passing and they give me a reason to get out of bed every morning. I just wish they would learn to sleep later than 6 am.
well, I have to go get them supper. More tomorrow. Hope to hear from you.

Hi Jude,
I am so very sorry I lost contact with you. I had wrote you a letter and
put it in my draft file because I wanted to add more to it. I rarely go into
my draft file so it stayed there.
RA is difficult to deal with. I have osteoarthritis and that is painful even
with medication. I have friends that suffer with RA and I know the mental struggles. Mom is 93 and got RA only in her hands at 85 years old.
The doctors were baffled by this. One morning, she couldn't hold a
coffee cup any longer. She is doing good with her hands, meds can
do wonders today! Are you doing lots of swimming? It is so great you
have a pool and jacuzzi. I am 4 blocks from a pool in the retired community I live. I don't know if I'll be able to go though. I need a hip
replacement and it is just too painful right now.
You have such beautiful weather for gardening. May I ask what type
of house you have? I have a 2 bedroom rancher. I love my house but it
needs work. I am excited that I am getting it painted but that's not until
Sept. LOL It may take me that long to decide on the colors. I live in. a
gaited comm. So I can only have the house certain colors. Have to go to
the office to look at the color chart. I can live with the rules here but I
wish they would keep up with other retirement comm. and cut the grass
so shovel the snow. The association fee is only 77.00 a month so I guess
I shouldn't complain.
Take care of yourself Jude. If I don't hear from you in the next 5 minutes
I will understand. God Bless!
Aggie. (Agnes)

Hi, Roger,
Glad to meet you. My husband and I lived in Flat Rock before we moved here and I taught in the Southgate Schools. But Tim lost his job with Ford in late ‘80 and my sis and her hubby were in Houston so Tim came down and found a job in two weeks after 6 months of nothing in Detroit. So of course, I followed him. I like it in TX., wouldn't ever consider moving north of where I am. In 2000, I developed rheumatoid arthritis and even when our temps get into the 40’s I am really hurting. But as long as I keep busy and moving I am okay. Water aerobics are really my thing as far as exercising goes. We put in an exercise pool a few years ago and I am in it every day.
I would be happy to communicate with you about everyday things.
