And all kinds of other things too if we are mindful and look for them. I have been bombarded recently with angel numbers and find them very comforting.
Grief is a long difficult journey and finding any kind of bright spots along the way certainly helps. ๐๐ทโญ๏ธ๐

Weekends can be tough. What do you have planned that may be a positive distraction? For me it's making a spiritual connection, volunteering, and participating in a bowling fundraiser. Whatever your plans, I hope they provide some grief relief and maybe even bring some joy to your heart.

I'm so glad Nicole @Winter2024 that Mr. Cat has been helpful in relieving some of your grief. There is research to show many human conditions benefit from people interactioning with animals.

I think sharing thoughts on caring for oneself, making doctor appointments (and the difficulty in doing so), discussing relocating, dealing with finances and life's decisions are all important issues to discuss. These are all a part of being alone and having to make big decisions for ourselves (perhaps for the very first time). Once one "accepts" the reality of being alone, it is difficult to have to make these decisions for ourselves ALONE. Hearing how others do it and have done it has been extremely helpful to me. Accepting the loss is NOT the end of this journey. Listening to tapes and reading books does not always offer the personal touch needed at times. Having someone make us smile and knowing there are people out there that truly do care about you is a gift.

I'm glad you're all taking care of yourselves. I'm still busy with decluttering clearing out a closet. Only got it half done. I'm busy all day with one thing or another. It takes longer to do things and get places now lol. It's good to be prepared. Except I think things happen when they are supposed to. So why should we worry so much. I do know the process itself is no picnic. Just slowing down and enjoy the nice weather, the day itself. Time takes care of many things.

I am GLAD that you are working on options to be elsewhere. I want you to be in a place that is SAFE, QUIET and PEACEFUL. I know it is hard with the price of rents increasing everywhere. How long have you lived in Virginia? Are there other sections of the state that you would like to live in? Are there places in bordering states that you like? My weekend will find me staying inside. It is suppose to be 105 here!!!!! July is suppose to be the hottest month. One thing I am thankful of is that the homes are well insulated so the air conditioner does keep the house comfortable. Being out in the sun makes me lightheaded and the medication I take prohibits me from being out in the sun. So I will either find a good book to read or find a movie to watch. It will be nice to do NOTHING and relax. Mr. Cat is simply "training" Nicole on his being there more and more and soon he will be an inside cat. ๐ I think the two of you are meant to be together. He โค๏ธ you and you โค๏ธ him. Have a Great Weekend.

Cadee @Cadee2719 I TOTALLY LUV my CUTE Studio Apt looking out at the mountains from my hill.
Wish I could MOVE it to a hill of my own.
Being on MEDICARE and NO family in Virginia, I am somewhat concerned. My 1st Medicare doctor is leaving October 18th BEFORE my NEXT appt (#3) in JANUARY 2025.
Yes made it and as of now showing with her NP who I have NEVER met. They are searching for her REPLACEMENT.
Then my daughter in Florida still unemployed from being laid off 4/11 of this year wanting me CLOSER.
Way TOO MUCH going on/lol.
I MAY try to find a BARTER set up while I WAIT to see WHERE she ends up. She wants to stay in Florida, but....
By bartering I mean maybe trade off housesitting for a TEMPORARY place to stay in PARADISE. Alot of people here RUN to Florida AFTER Thanksgiving, return AFTER Easter. Yes, have TWO homes.
Maybe I can keep an eye on one HERE in the MOUNTAINS during the WINTER. ๐๐๐
Luv you,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค

Options are:
1. go back to the dog park
2. go see a movie
3. go to the mall
4. take a boat ride to scatter ashes
I retired 10 years ago. But while I was caring for Stephen I was very busy taking him to lots of doctors, doing the shopping or on the phone resolving some problem with medications or appointments Now Iโm back to Everyday is a weekend day.

WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER LIKE? ๐ค
Here in Cave Spring, Virginia โ getting ready to STORM again. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Time to dig out my PIG brand water absorbent mats for in front of my front door INSIDE.
Not sure what Mr. ๐ will be doing, but I WILL be TRYING the huge plastic container for his food on my porch. I would put it UNDER my car during storm but the parking lot has guess what - NO DRAINAGE, so it floods.
Anyway, storms for several days and this OLD lady and the OTHER old lady (2006 Hyundai Elantra) is staying home and INSIDE. Lol, no need to go FLOATING down my hill or cannot come up hill.

I got a little wet this morning at the dog park but the rest of the day was dry. Iโm used to hot and humid and Iโm getting plenty of that. But mornings are pretty nice. There is an ocean breeze that cools things in the morning and evenings. So itโs just nice typical Florida weather. August is when the real fun starts with the tropical storms. It is supposed to be a busy hurricane season this year. We will see.

๐ Diane @DianeB887812 I am totally looking forward to when you get another dog. Do you want male or female or does NOT matter. Puppy, teen or adult?
๐ Jeremiah (Jack Russell) was my Walking Buddy and Best Pal. Still miss my boy.
I found this on Google, lol - you luv those feisty little dogs. They are SO CUTE and when the time comes, let me know IF you need me to post how to post pictures of him/her.
The Chihuahua is a small dog breed that originated in Mexico. They are known for being intelligent, loyal, and loving. They are also considered to be good companions and lap dogs.
Chihuahuas have a domed skull, large ears, and short muzzles. Their eyes are round and large, and they have a long tail that they carry over their back. Their coats can come in almost any color and pattern.
Chihuahuas can range in temperament from feisty and outgoing to shy and timid.

I had two white chihuahuas up to December of last year. They loved going for walks with me. Everyone that met us along the way were very surprised at how well behaved they were. I got them from a breeder as babies. I had three previous dogs that were mixed breeds and came from the pound. Those dogs all had issues due to their poor experiences in their early lives. I have always loved all my dogs no matter what issues they had, but those two chihuahuas were special to Stephen and I. They were our babies.
I will probably get a fur baby next year. I need to get myself in a good mind set so that I can raise my new puppy without any social issues. Dogs are very sensitive to their owners mental state and can be affected by an unbalanced owner.
