Inconceivable Roll 5 score!!

 The Roll 5 score of 5,530 posted by Sonja525 this week is inconceivable!  Please post an explanation.  Is this meant to be a joke or did someone hack your game?  To achieve a score of more than 5,000 would require nearly a perfect score for every block, including every one achieving a color bonus of three times the normal score.  Cannot be!!

Hi @patrickd471864 and @nctarheel, just following up! We have confirmed that a score of 5,530 is possible. While 5,530 is not the highest possible score, it’s still very rare to achieve; this is why so many scores in the 2000-3000 range on the leaderboard!

 I am aware that a score of 5,530 is technically possible, a basic knowledge of probability and of the Roll 5 game tells you that a score as high as 5,000 will NEVER happen in reality (that is why I titled my original comment as "Inconceivable Roll 5 score" rather than "Impossible Roll 5 score").  Achieving a score of more than 5,000 would require throwing a perfect toss of the dice nearly every single throw.  It simply will not ever happen!  The only way such a score can be achieved is by hacking the game.  Your response saying that a score of 5,530 "is possible" is a disingenuous response and dodges responsibility for you to get the source of the real problem that someone has hacked your game/scoreboard.  Again, considering that AARP is constantly warning members to be cautious about scams, it is disappointing that you do not admit that someone has corrupted your online game and take more serious action to prevent it from happening again.

You have exposed a flaw as I have done before with this game and others. AARP, when there were hackers posting scores in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS for 5ROLL did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it for months then and once again, are doing NOTHING about it now.

Other games like BLACKJACK have scores of 26 BILLION. Yes, 26 BILLION. See if you can get to a million....ain't easy but AARP insists that 26,000 million is attainable.

Thanks for your comments, and you are right.......AARP has been slack in regards to the security of the gaming platform.

It makes you wonder about the security of the web site as a whole.

I hope you don't mind but I must take your explanation with a "grain of salt". It is obvious that you are unaware of how the game of 5ROLL is played.

I was well aware that the score of 5530 is less than the total POSSIBLE MAXIMUM points that are in the game( I figured it to be around 6,200 the last time there was an issue with HACKED LEADER BOARDS on this game.)

That 5530 is unachievable without some spurious control of the games normal operation.

THAT IS THE REASON MOST LEGITIMATE SCORES ARE WITHIN THE 2,000 TO 3,000 RANGE.

Another reason I take your response with a "grain of salt" is the history of this particular game on your web site. Previously, scores were posted in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS (i.e. 150,000 and up) in this game and it took months for AARP to acknowledge something was wrong. It took months further for AARP to do something about it.

Finally, you did no research as to the user that posted this BOGUS score. They visited the web site as a NEWBIE just ONE TIME (most likely to post the BOGUS score). Hadn't been here before.....hadn't been back since.

Your response was NOT A SOLUTION as achieving a score of 5530 is no more likely than posting an IMPOSSIBLE SCORE in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS. If you had any awareness of the playing of this game, you wouldn't have tried to pass off your response as a solution.

I find it ridiculous that several people have expressed concern regarding the security of these LEADER BOARDS and not one AARP representative has responded to those concerns.

As noted by myself and @patrickd471864, these scores are IMPOSSIBLE so the only rational reason for the appearance of these IMPOSSIBLE TOTALS are SECURITY BREACHES. One would think that AARP would be concerned about a SECURITY BREACH.

As they say, "Better Late Than Never".... I appreciate your response to the concern that there is a security breach within your gaming platform. While I understand that you have made contact and are waiting for their response, this is NOT THE FIRST time this type of thing has happened. A couple of years ago, several users breached the security of the 5ROLL Leader Board and input scores in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.

AARP initially did nothing during that breach too. I sent emails regarding the issue and was surprised that they personally responded to my emails.

Those responses from that time regarding a similar issue renders your present response unclear.

I sure hope history isn't repeating itself but your delayed and unclear response tells me otherwise.

 Thank you for your concern. I assure you, we reached out to our gaming vendor on 12/21. they replied promptly with their next steps to include their support team.  I also find it sadly ironic that AARP constantly warns seniors about scams and hacking of accounts, yet has it's own website games to be hacked and doesn't even acknowledge it has happened or what it is doing to prevent it further in the future.  It is an insignificant thing by itself, but reflects a serious issue and weakness of any organization that maintains computer systems.

I am not clear as to what you don't understand.

You ask why is cheating of any importance and then you ask why would cheating matter in the real world.

I think the answers to why cheating is OF IMPORTANCE and why cheating DOES MATTER in the real world are ABUNDANTLY clear.

I don't understand WHY you find them unclear.
