In answer to your question "Do I have any plans on the second anniversary of hubbys passing..I don't as of yet and November is always a tight month as RE taxes and water/sewer bill is due plus annual yard clean up by landscape man so that's where the $$ goes then there's planning for the holidays ..I prefer to remember the days that we had made wonderful memories and yes I will think of how I miss him not only on Nov. 7th but everyday of the year..His picture has a place of honor in the living room and is always by the small Xmas tree to be with us on that Holy Day....I have a miniature little red rocking chair that has a tag attached to it that says "Christmas in Heaven" what do they do ?  They come down to earth to spend it with you. So save them a seat, just one empty chair. You may not see thembut they still will be there....It's also an ornament to hang but I choose to place it by his picture...To all of you I wish you Peace...

Looking forward to my doctor's appointment, FINALLY!  No birthday plans, just a quiet day.  My birthday is November 11th.    I am thinking the medical alert system does not provide the coverage I thought it did.  My projects for when I am snowed in will be  recording the birds that come to feed.  I have all different kinds here.  I got a book identifying them so it will be fun to see how many different species I can identify.. I also got a 1000 piece puzzle that I will work on.  Haven't done a puzzle in many, many years but thought that might keep me occupied.  I have sewing to do and I plan to print the many pages of the journal I have written for my grandson since the day he was born.  He will be 21 this November!  I will also be working on my taxes as I have to deal with capital gain taxes from selling my home.  Looks like I will have a lot to do!  šŸ¤£  My neighbor told me when the street turns to ice, the whole neighborhood turns it into a skating rink!!  Snow will be new for me and I am excited about it.  I would love a White Christmas.  This time of year is hard for me.  I struggle to find bits and pieces of happiness and joy, BUT I will do all that I can to continue the search.

Yes Iā€™m feeling sad without him.  His favorite cake was German chocolate.  I think I need to find a piece of it and eat it.  I wonder if any other family will feel the void on his birthday.  I may appear determined but Iā€™m really crumbling inside.  If I can do anything I must stay busy otherwise I will crumble on the outside.  Nicole you inspire me with your positive caring energy that you share with so many of us!

Julie @JulieT507376,

I hope you find that piece of German chocolate cake and enjoy it in your husband's honor.

I was thinking about your crumbling on the inside and appearance of determination on the outside. I know that feeling! I don't know if you are religious or spiritual but there is a song that I listen to at those times. It is called "Raining on The Inside" and it is sung by Amy Grant. I sing along with it through my tears and manage to come out with more strength and composure.

Keep following your strategic plans and you will get through this.

Marcy,

Thank you for your kind response.  I just listened to Amy Grantā€™s song ā€œRaining on the Insideā€. Itā€™s beautiful!   Thank you for sharing with meā¤ļø. Maybe Iā€™m not crumbling.  Rain sounds more accurate.  Iā€™m spiritual and have faith.  Iā€™m still not sure why God took Mark away from me.

Iā€™m leaving shortly to head to town and it just started snowing.  So itā€™s snowing on the outside and the roads will be slippery.
Hopefully Iā€™ll find that piece of cake.  Take care on the first Monday of November!

šŸ‘‹  Good morning everyone!!!

Another change our clocks back 1 hour. Lol, have my note ready on my door to do that to my car's clock. An old one that is a "pain" to change.

In the 30's here in Virginia.

ONE MORE day for my mechanic to OPEN so I can call them to see WHEN I can bring my "will NOT start" car into them (AAA start or tow  šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜). Hoping they can fix it as I have my 1st Bone Dentisty Test and LOA Part D Appointment THIS MONTH.

Lisa @LisaJP6763 , I hope you are recuperating and resting from your surgery. I am SO GLAD you had it done. Now to MOVE FORWARD "trusting" it helped with your chronic back pain.

Susan @SusanR479241 , I hope you will stop by again to see us.

EVERYONE else, I am here IF anyone needs me.

Looking forward to the one more hour of sleep.  Still struggling to get a full night's sleep.  Had CRAZY weather yesterday.  Lightning, thunder and then the ground was covered with HAIL!!  It only lasted about five minutes, then the sun comes out.  šŸ˜  Fall is beautiful here and the constant change in the weather is fun.  Can't wait until I get my first snow here.  The constant changes in the weather bring new life and change.  Wonder if I will be saying that after a snow storm.  I am lining up projects to work on while being snowed in (if that even happens).  Wishing everyone a beautiful FALL.  Nicole I hope you get your car fixed soon and that it doesn't cost an "arm and a leg".  ā¤ļø

While I was with my brother, my son took it to a garage and had it repaired.  Looks like I will be keeping the "old girl" a bit longer now that the window is fixed.  With the cost of cars nowadays, I want to hang on to the one I got as long as it is running.

We used Medical Guardian for my Mom. She didn't have it very long and hardly used it so I can't say much about the service. The sales people were professional and helpful, the price was in line with other services, and the reviews were quite positive.

I hope that helps.

hey girl, I've been thinking about you, I hope you're doing well!  This back thing really has me struggling.  Surgery is scheduled for Friday morning.  Hoping to feel better shortly after that. Other than that just trudging along, trying to get through the day and get some sleep.  I'll check back in later in the weekend.

No, it's just a short-term thing with the election season. I'm almost finished.

Doing well...just crazy busy right now. My regular activities and additional volunteering during the election season have me pretty tied up but in a good way.

šŸ™  Cadee @Cadee2719 , my thoughts are with you today for your brother and health.

Now that you are back home, I hope you will continue with your self care.

You remind me of my grandparents. They gave SO MUCH of themselves when they were alive like you are for your brother and his wife.

Sad, with their death, our family has now become selfish and backstabbing.

Lol, you need to adopt me.

Anyway, just wanted to check on you.

Hmmm, looking forward to hearing about your binoculors (misspelled  šŸ™„)  NEXT Spring. I bet your backyard will be FULL of grateful birds at your feeder.  šŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒšŸ™ƒ

My daughter left for Chicago yesterday. Will return home Wednesday.

Hmmm, any medical updates?  šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

Hi Nicole and all!  Yes, I am home and exhausted!  My brother is slowly recovering and will require more surgery on his eye.  Having macular degeneration in both eyes has not helped.  He needs to repair the injured eye to have any hope of seeing anything out of it.  I will be seeing the rheumatologist November 6.  I am also going to ask for a referral to a vascular doctor (as Jonibee suggested) as the pain in my legs continues.  My goal is to take care of my medical issues. I will be 81 in a few weeks and would like to spend my remaining time without daily pain. On October 30 it will be two years since my husband died.  It will be a quiet day for me.  Next day is Halloween and I have been told by the kids in the neighborhood that there are A LOT OF THEM that will come for candy!   šŸ˜ƒ They are sweet and keep me smiling.    Chicago??? Wow

Is that someplace you would consider moving to if she found a job there?  Each day brings a new surprise doesn't it?  I am hoping that everyone here is taking care of themselves and taking  One Step at a Time.  Those that recently lost a loved one are discovering who they truly are and will learn the POWER of the person they will become.   ā¤ļø  The people on this site are here to help you through this journey.

Thank You for your kind thoughts.  I am so thankful that I have a friend that places flowers on the graves for me.  I spent the day being quiet and alone.  It is hard to believe that my husband has been dead for two years.
