Hello @DanielC820725, the rumors are true. Princess Cruise Lines has decided to discontinue offering discounted gift cards through the AARP Rewards Program. AARP makes claims the they sell Celebrity gift cards. Unfortunately they DO NOT work like any gift cards I have purchase anywhere else in society. They are nothing more than a NEW BOOKING payment card and CANNOT be used for anything else. Very poor business practices in this matter.

@billd612468 I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. On the redemption page for the Celebrity Cruises gift card, you will find the Rewards terms which state that it may be used only as a form of payment toward a new reservation made directly with Celebrity Cruises. These terms are listed on the redemption page so that our members have an opportunity to review them prior to completing their purchase. I'm here to help if there's anything I can do to help. - Janelle M.

Another ridiculous cut and paste answer without addressing the real concerns that your members have...like a robot (which it probably is) answering the same company line over and and over thinking that we'll finally just go along with it...I'm definitely not renewing now as you can't even respond to your members with real, individual responses that actually discuss the specific concerns than many of us have shared...this is beyond stupid to treat your members in that manner, as obviously you've just decided to remove the cards for financial reasons and then lied about it and are hoping the uproar will just go away...disgusting.

@StephenD118314 I realize your disappointment in losing the Princess gift card choice. Unfortunately, there are many reasons why specific discounts are no longer offered by the brand, so I hope you'll reconsider your membership. The information we have been given is that Princess Cruise Lines has decided to discontinue offering discounted gift cards through the AARP Rewards Program. We work hard to bring a wide variety of valuable benefits, and resources to our members, so you have choices that fit your lifestyle. Anyway, I'm sorry you felt like a robot responded, and we do have travel savings on airlines, hotels, and more! Explore them at https://aarp.info/3z9eWB3 and let me know if I can help you find anything you may be interested in. Thanks! Jodee R.

It will only come back if more people quit AARP over this. I canceled my automatic renewal and told them why. And I bought a gift card at another site (which does not require membership.) The way they are treating us (saying it was a decision from Princess but not addressing the fact that Princess says it’s AARP’s decision and that the same discount cards are still available on other sites) is despicable.

Since it was such a popular card to purchase, y'all should have let folks know before it was unavailable so that folks could stock up a few if they wanted. I understand that cards may come and go, but the lack of communication is incredibly disappointing. Y'all seem to just want to blame Princess, when at least you could have let folks know beforehand. I will not be renewing as a result.

Honestly, that reply kinda makes it even worse...instead of acknowledging that you made a mistake and will endeavor to let folks know beforehand before popular choices go away, you try to push other offers on me as if I can't look for myself...the problem is NOT what you have available, it's the absolute lack of communication about popular cards that may have been the main reason many folks on here signed up...wow.
I just spoke to a representative. They said Princess is no longer selling discount gift cards on AARP site. This seems strange to me because they are still selling Carnival and Holland America and all 3 of these cruise lines are owned by the same company
