Are there services for getting a ramp built?

Is there any services for getting a ramp built on a home? We can’t afford to ask a contractor to do this.

The area agency on aging may know of volunteer groups that help with this. Habitat for Humanity may do this. A group called Rebuilding Together does rehabilitation work on homeowner’s residences. Check this web site to see if they work in your area:  https://rebuildingtogether.org.

Another option is to find the volunteer effort in your community and see if they’ve ever built one before. Some large hardware businesses will donate wood, and by word of mouth you can find out what contractor would volunteer his or her time to design such a thing. Then, volunteers will build it. This all takes work, but having a ramp is worth the effort.
