I like to start the day with a little brain workout, so I do some crosswords and word wipe. And if I have earned points, I need to do something with them so I usually enter a sweepstakes or 2. And I have won at the sweeps so overall it's a big plus in my life.

I purchase gift cards with my rewards points throughout the year to a local restaurant. This past weekend I used the gift cards to take my friend who has been caring full time for her husband who is battling ALS out for a quiet holiday dinner. She told me the next day it was the first time is six months since she had been out to dinner and felt truly relaxed. That moment was worth more to me than anything I could’ve wrapped under the tree!

I love the easy aspect of earning points as I learn. The short clips and quizzes are great tools for me. I use the points I earn to try to win gift cards and sweepstakes. It's a win/win because of the information gained and the feeling of free gifts earned, tho I haven't won yet, I keep coming back!

I get gift certificates during the year and use them as stocking stuffers for family and friends. They let me save money and add to my charity donations. I can't shop in person unless someone drives me (due to my brain tumor) and I hate having to rely on someone for a last minute run for gift cards.

I try to snag Amazon and Walmart gift cards when they are available. Haven’t done very well this year. I think I’ve only been able to get two $5 Walmart gift cards. Holidays will be meager. I’m currently staying with my daughter while I recover from a heart attack. Love to watch videos and answer quizzes while earning points I can redeem for gift cards. Maybe I’ll get lucky and win a sweepstakes or instant win!

I use my AARP Rewards points for Magazine subscriptions. I get the joy of finding something in my mailbox, read the articles, and pass it on to my neighbor, who works at the Cancer Center, so her patients have something to read during their treatments.

Just returned from visiting my 20 something daughter across the country. There was literally nothing in her freezer but an ice pack. Love taking AARP quizzes and watching videos. Really do learn some good stuff and earn points. You’d be surprised at how fast you can rack up points. Already cashed in points for Omaha Steaks $10 giftcard. Gonna load up her freezer with some burgers!
I also check the daily deal which saves you $5 on a $25 giftcard. If there is a merchant I use regularly, it’s a savings of 20%. Makes sense. Happy Holidays!

An important part of the holidays for me is the general excitement, fun, and opportunities for joy and connection. I love entering the AARP sweepstakes, because I sometimes win, and that helps us have special treats on a tight budget... BUT also, even when I don't win, I love the good feeling that comes from dreaming I will!!

This Christmas I told the grandkids their presents were sponsored by AARP rewards program. They didn’t seem impressed, but my wallet was thrilled. I’m turning my AARP points into stocking stuffers by purchasing gift cards and occasionally winning an instant win. Who knew my Hurdle and Word Wipe addiction could pay for stocking stuffers!

That's easy, acquiring points and rewards is fun, and money saving for me ! I love to play the games, read the stories, watch the videos, and try the quizzes in order to shop for rewards to gift to others. I keep that persons likes and interests in mind and give them a gift card I think they will enjoy at birthdays or Christmas. It's a win win, I have a good time while gifting someone else, to give THEM a good time too !

I try to spend wisely all through the year, but it is especially important during the holidays! The AARP Rewards program assists me in several important ways. The videos and quizzes are highly educational and teach me how to be a wiser consumer. I try to focus on the “Members only” series to earn points faster and also to qualify for special discounts. I typically redeem points for gift cards that I use to purchase specialty items for those on my gift list, and often bring lower value cards to redeem for a coffee or quick meal for ME when I need a break during my power shopping outings. I save the higher value cards for mail and package delivery people who are either prohibited or discouraged from accepting cash from their customers. Gift cards are also welcomed by our local non-profits who can either put them to use right away to purchase office supplies, etc. or to combine them in attractive displays as silent auction or raffle items for their year-end appeals. All these ways help me to spend less but enjoy the holidays more!

Since my husband and I have become empty nesters after oldest and twin daughters graduated from college and secured jobs out-of-state, we have missed them terribly. So we've been sending them Southwest gift cards that we purchase from AARP Rewards as a not so subtle hint to come home for a visit. The savings really help during the holidays when air travel is more expensive.

We provide our family with gift cards through earning points from the various quizzes and from watching the videos on a daily basis. We also enjoy playing some of the games. Thank you for offering these savings and knowledge for navigating my everyday life.

I save up the gift cards through out the year and combine them to purchase gifts. I also purchase gift cards which often offer 8% discounts up to 20% discounts. Every once in a while I win a gift card on an instant win; mostly I purchase them with points or money.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
