AARP Hearing Center
Notifications and ads are being sent announcing new issues of Social Security checks to senior citizens with subtitles "Must Apply To Recieve" This is a false claim to get private information. SSA has not sent any such news.
How or where are you seeing these notifications and ads that announce such a fraud / scam ?
Wonder how many seniors already have their info on the Dark Web from numerous data breaches? Probably a lot and now they are wondering why the SSA is taking these identity safeguards, meaning to require one to make an appointment to come in or use their secure personal social security account to sign up or make changes.
[Thursday 3/27/25] Thanks for posting this @ag78334249 and hopefully SENIORS will call the REAL SOCIAL SECURITY people BEFORE listening & reacting to this SCAM.
Maybe AARP will see YOUR post and publish an article on this GROWING issue.
AARP @AARPConsumerCare , I know you guys NEVER post in this forum (AARP Social Security Forum) but this is a very serious issue.
Please "pretty please" SHARE @ag78334249 's POST WITH YOUR HIGHER UPS.
Thank you for CARING about us OLD FOLKS.
