Prince - 'Purple Rain' (1984)

Just dropped this on the turntable....need some cleaning music.

*@nyadrn ....I agree. The Stones are one of the greatest bands ever. Will never forget the first time I saw them live. Much to my mother's dismay, my aunt took when I was 12 complete with a backstage tour to meet my cousin  (for the first time, his first time in the states) and the band. Just one of the those days you never forget.

Yes, they really are the World’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band! The Rolling Stones have the #1 album, “Sticky Fingers” and the #1 single, “Brown Sugar.” People claim the song’s lyrics are sexist, racist and/or about drugs. With all that controversy, how could it miss? On this date in 1971

When I’m

“Dippin – anything with Marvin Gaye singing alongside Tammi Terrell for sure, then there’s: Future Games (title track from the 1971 album*, “Hypnotized” (from Bare Trees 1972)*, “Sentimental Lady” (from Mystery to Me 1972)*; and most anything from The French Kiss album 1977. While the first three all were credited as/on Fleetwood Mac albums and the later being his own solo album; make no mistake – the common denominator of it all was Mr. Bob Welch. *No doubt an artistic genius, arguably one could say Fleetwood Mac merely played out as his backup band over that four year span of 71-75.

(and if she’s real good  and I'm reaI’ good then Things could lead up to some…)

Deeper Dippin” – “Do You Feel Like I Do”; “Lines on My Face”; “Baby I Love Your Way” – Peter Frampton (from Frampton Comes Alive 1976); “Europa” Carlos Santana -any of the live versions from various 1976-1978); “Stormy Monday” The Allman Brothers (from Live At The Fillmore East 1971).

Lippin, Flippin, Rippin or perhaps just` Quippin – “Bara O’Riley”; “Behind Blue Eyes”; “Won’t Get Fooled Again” (from Who’s Next, The Who 1971); Who Are You? the title track from the 1978 Who album. "Hocus Pocus" by Focus (Moving Waves 1971)“That Smell” – Lynryd Skynrd (from Street Survivors 1977), or jumping a couple decades, to “Special” (2.0 Version album by Garbage featuring Shirley Manson) yeehah!

Hippin’ – No short stories here. How about some “Eyes of the World” Grateful Dead (like 28 minutes worth) or “The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys” ( Traffic 1973); “Stairway to Heaven” (from IV (ZOSO) 1971); or “In The Light”; “Down By The Seaside”; and “Ten Years Gone” all by Led Zepplin of course (all from the Physical Graffiti album 1975).

or if I’m….

Sippin’, Nippin’ or Trippin’ (otherwise known as escaping reality) There’s the Dark Side of The Moon album (1973) or Shine On You Crazy Diamond” (from Wish You Were Here 1975) all by Pink Floyd; “Close To The Edge” (1972) by Yes; or “Trilogy” by Emerson, Lake and Palmer (from the album From The Beginning 1972). Note..There’s just too many to list as I certainly donated a lot of good quality time to that “e.r.” thing.

I know I missed a lot but the last thing I’ll say is; to me music is what helps my heart push my life blood through my veins. I don’t care who I’m with or what I’m doing – I can always relate something to a song. When I hear a person say they were never into music. Man that kills me. What those people have been missing their entire life, if they only knew.

Now ask me what songs I’d rather be bitten by a scorpion, then have to listen to…. Ah a list for another day. Thank you. RJA
