ps RJA.. great post! thanks
When Iโmโฆ
โDippinโ โ anything with Marvin Gaye singing alongside Tammi Terrell for sure, then thereโs: Future Games (title track from the 1971 album*, โHypnotizedโ (from Bare Trees 1972)*, โSentimental Ladyโ (from Mystery to Me 1972)*; and most anything from The French Kiss album 1977. While the first three all were credited as/on Fleetwood Mac albums and the later being his own solo album; make no mistake โ the common denominator of it all was Mr. Bob Welch. *No doubt an artistic genius, arguably one could say Fleetwood Mac merely played out as his backup band over that four year span of 71-75.
(and if sheโs real good and I'm reaIโ good thenโฆ Things could lead up to someโฆ)
โDeeper Dippinโ โ โDo You Feel Like I Doโ; โLines on My Faceโ; โBaby I Love Your Wayโ โ Peter Frampton (from Frampton Comes Alive 1976); โEuropaโ Carlos Santana -any of the live versions from various 1976-1978); โStormy Mondayโ The Allman Brothers (from Live At The Fillmore East 1971).
Lippin, Flippin, Rippin or perhaps just` Quippin โ โBara OโRileyโ; โBehind Blue Eyesโ; โWonโt Get Fooled Againโ (from Whoโs Next, The Who 1971); Who Are You? the title track from the 1978 Who album. "Hocus Pocus" by Focus (Moving Waves 1971)โThat Smellโ โ Lynryd Skynrd (from Street Survivors 1977), or jumping a couple decades, to โSpecialโ (2.0 Version album by Garbage featuring Shirley Manson) yeehah!
Hippinโ โ No short stories here. How about some โEyes of the Worldโ Grateful Dead (like 28 minutes worth) or โThe Low Spark of High Heeled Boysโ ( Traffic 1973); โStairway to Heavenโ (from IV (ZOSO) 1971); or โIn The Lightโ; โDown By The Seasideโ; and โTen Years Goneโ all by Led Zepplin of course (all from the Physical Graffiti album 1975).
or if Iโmโฆ.
Sippinโ, Nippinโ or Trippinโ (otherwise known as escaping reality) Thereโs the Dark Side of The Moon album (1973) or โShine On You Crazy Diamondโ (from Wish You Were Here 1975) all by Pink Floyd; โClose To The Edgeโ (1972) by Yes; or โTrilogyโ by Emerson, Lake and Palmer (from the album From The Beginning 1972). Note..Thereโs just too many to list as I certainly donated a lot of good quality time to that โe.r.โ thing.
I know I missed a lot but the last thing Iโll say is; to me music is what helps my heart push my life blood through my veins. I donโt care who Iโm with or what Iโm doing โ I can always relate something to a song. When I hear a person say they were never into music. Man that kills me. What those people have been missing their entire life, if they only knew.
Now ask me what songs Iโd rather be bitten by a scorpion, then have to listen toโฆ. Ah a list for another day. Thank you. RJA

Studio album by Red Hot Chili Peppers |
Released on this date in 2006
Red Hot Chili Peppers release their double album "Stadium Arcadium." Bassist Flea claims it is "the best record we've ever made." The album has 28 tracks which was a few more than originally planned. "We set out to write 13 songs . . . to have a small, digestible piece of art," says singer Anthony Kiedis. "It went haywire from there." As part of the event the group plays a special concert in New York. 2006

In Response to Re: WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?:
I'm listening and watching a DVD : "The Doobie Brothers Live at Wolf Trap". It was filmed in 2004 just after the Doobies reunited. Most of the original members are present, especially the front men : Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons, and John McFee.
The quality of their harmonies is unbelievable, you swear it's 1975 again. Much as I like the Beach Boys, The Eagles, Three Dog Night, or Crosby Stills & Nash , NO group can harmonize like the Doobies. ! To listen to the opening of "Another Park Another Sunday" just gives the goosebumps.
Anyone heard this disc ? If so how did you like it
Posted by firstwalt
I cannot recall it but then I have listened to thousands over the years. Lol. Thanks for sharing.
