Now I am reminded of the many rock and rockabilly bands I've watched where someone is slapping out good rhythms on such a bass. And my incipient dementia won't let me remember the names so I can listen again! I need a music database to keep track of these!

I remember their telephone "song of the day", remember that? you could call their phone and listen to their "song of the day" of course. That too was revived a few years ago I see.

Dengue Fever is still with us and has a new album out. They played a live set at KEXP (KEXP is a great source for discovering new music!) that was just posted today on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO7XAyJfunU) A great session, I listened to the whole set. But now I'm listening to an older live track "Uku" live from the Troubador (remember Linda Ronstadt's live album from there?), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4yfWRscHz0  (much different from Ronstadt!)
