Lot of old and great songs. In all my years I have never heard a song about Thanksgiving, and I think it is 3 on here so far.

    When I read this post about two weeks ago, I remember thinking that, for me, Christmas season began when I heard Gisele Mackenzie sing, “Silent Night”.  Then I realized that Gisele is largely unknown today, but I did find this copy of album, which is as old as I am!  In retrospect, it’s an odd little album - with some songs sung partially in French, but it brings back fond memories for me.  ….all these years later, I still play the same scratchy LP.

 Christmas in Dixie - Alabama.. Not a "traditional" Christmas song I suppose but I love how the lyrics seem to include everyone and most every different area of our nation.. Great message about how we are alike no matter where w live..

    I love this song!  I was introduced to it many years ago because it was included on “The Time Life Treasury of Christmas Songs”.  (I swear there was such a thing, and I still have the CDs!)

…..and the spoken ‘God bless y’all!  We love ya!  Happy New Year!  Merry Christmas!’ at the end was the perfect touch. 🤶

    I remember hearing this song often as a child, but I rarely hear it now.  It is an old, sweet song.

   I’m gonna confess right now to both of you that, because I travel for Thanksgiving, I’ve been decorating for Christmas indoors and listening to instrumental Christmas too! 🎄🎶…by the time that I arrive back home, it will “officially” be the Holly Jolly season! 🤶

   But I definitely agree that there is something jarring about Halloween candy displays in late August, and  artificial Christmas tree displays edging out Halloween costumes….

Christmas season officially began when I was a kid when everyone saw Santa arrive at the very end of the Thanksgiving Day parade! 🦃🤶
