I Love ROCK 'N ROLL

On June 14, 1980 Bill Joel started a six-week run at No.1 on the US album chart with Glass Houses, his second US No.1 album. The album features Joel's first song to peak at No.1 on Billboard's Pop Singles chart, 'It's Still Rock and Roll to Me.' His first No. 1 album? Check out the blog for the answer! Billyโ€™s first number one song โ€œItโ€™s Still Rock and Roll to Meโ€ provides the theme for todayโ€™s playlist, songs with some variation of Rock and Roll in their title.

Some Rock & Roll song greats include Bob Seger โ€œOld Time Rock & Rollโ€ and โ€œRock And Roll Never Forgets,โ€ Chuck Berry โ€œRock And Roll Music,โ€ Joan Jett โ€œI Love Rock โ€™N Roll,โ€ Huey Lewis โ€œThe Heart of Rock And Roll,โ€ The Rolling Stones โ€œItโ€™s Only Rock โ€™nโ€™ Roll,โ€ Eric Clapton โ€œIโ€™ve Got a Rock โ€™Nโ€™ Roll Heart,โ€ Boston โ€œRock & Roll Band,โ€ Led Zeppelin โ€œRock and Roll,โ€ Kiss โ€œRock And Roll All Nite,โ€ Bad Company โ€œRock โ€™nโ€™ Roll Fantasy,โ€ John Fogerty โ€œRock and Roll Girls,โ€ Elton John โ€œRock And Roll Madonna,โ€ Meat Loaf โ€œRock And Roll Dreams Come True,โ€ Moody Blues โ€œIโ€™m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band),โ€ The Kinks โ€œA Rock โ€™nโ€™ Roll Fantasy,โ€ Traffic โ€œRock โ€™Nโ€™ Roll Stew,โ€ and Peter, Paul, and Mary โ€œI Dig Rock and Roll Music,โ€ among others. And that doesn't even include the Rock & Roll releases by AC/DC and Kiss, who were so prolific they needed their own playlist.

Love the playlist! In 1980 I had just bought

my first CD player. Ironically, the first CD

I bought was โ€œGlass Housesโ€ by the incredible

Billy Joel. Long live rock and roll! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’œ
