Just read that Johnny Nash died yesterday

at age 80. “I can see clearly now”  hit #1 on

the Billboard hot 100 in 1972 and stayed in

the top spot for four weeks. He also sang

the opening theme song for the cartoon

series “The mighty Hercules” in the 1960’s

RIP Johnny in rocker heaven 💦🙏

October 9th. Today John Lennon would of

been turning 80 years of age. Imagine

what the music world would be like if

he was still here. Sad. I will reflect

and celebrate this day with the gift

of his music 😢🎼💜

I never knew that John and Sean shared the same birthday. It must have been a joy at the time. Now it seems bittersweet.

Echo in the Canyon  -  Documentary film, 2018 w / Jakob Dylan

A look back at the origins of the California sound, featuring many artists interviewed by JD. If you liked the Laurel Canyon documentary on Epix, this is a nice complement, as it is a much different format. The film also has clips of Dylan and other contemporary artists recreating many of the 60's songs in a way that's fresh and modern. The soundtrack is here on YT . . .

It's nice to see that younger generations have taken an interest in these songs some 50 years later. When I was their age, I doubt I could have named one 50 year old song!

Happy 80th Birthday to Sir Cliff!

In honor of his 80th birthday, his YT Channel is posting premiere videos of past performances throughout the day, mostly from the 70's and 80's. Some are with The Shadows.

He had planned an 80th Birthday Tour around the UK, but covid canceled those plans. Now he is set to release his new autobiography at the end of October. He's an amazing artist.
