๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ต How to Avoid These Common Retirement Fails (AARP Article)

FROM THE ARTICLE:

10 Ways to Fail at Retirement.

Avoid these hazards to your money, health and happiness as you step away from work.

Maybe what they need is a bit of negative reinforcement โ€” a fail-to-do guide, if you will. There are, after all, many things โ€” critical things โ€” that people manage to not do before or during retirement. Many are financial, but some involve physical, mental and emotional well-being.

I think for most that longevity is overrated. Statistically, only 0.3% of people will live to be 100 but financial advisors tell most to plan for that length of life. I suppose that if you have family who have had very lengthy healthy lives then that may be something to consider. I have a living will and don't want to "live" by tube feedings or other heroics. To me that isn't living.

The one I find for myself as a challenge is:

1. Not accounting for longevity.

In my very humble opinion, it is hard to "predict" how long we are going to live.

Take care,
