Rewards for points dissatisfaction
I feel so disappointed in the far and few $5 rewards that are offered. A lot of them are not in our area. I used to get some nice 10 dollar ones once in a while and also some merchandise . ( like the aarp sister boxes). I feel like the ads have doubled. I played word wipe in the morning and now you get 100 less points. Is anyone Else disappointed. I work hard at this to try and save a few bucks.

Yes, I remember those days when they had a generous rewards program - they offered a $5, $10, or a $15 gift card for 50 pts - a different one each day at noon - and if you were online and fast enough, you had a good chance of winning one. In 2021, it was overhauled and here we are today. Now you get to watch commercials before you can play a game or take a quiz or watch a video to earn points - and then not get the points anyway (it doesn't happen ALL the time, but once is too much when it should ALWAYS work as promoted). And occasionally they offer a desirable $5 gift card for tens of thousands of those points. Sure do miss the good old days!

""And occasionally they offer a desirable $5 gift card for tens of thousands of those points."
And when they do offer the ones everybody can use, they still sell out really fast. I missed the Home Depot gift card from a few days ago, and the Amazon gift card offered this afternoon sold out in less than an hour.

I don't think the Amazon card was actually available; I check every 30 minutes and the Walmart card popped at the same time (but using individual search, not filter, where they no longer are found); I think AARP screwed up posting the AMZ card with already sold out image... jmho

- I’m tired of seeing the same, useless gift cards for points only redemption. Three NFL Shop, 3 Baja Fresh, 3 Camping World & 3 Fruit Bouquets. Plus Trelawear, FTD, Pro Flowers & Kin Capsules. AARP says there’s 18 items for points only redemption. I count 16.
- I keep throwing away points on sweepstakes and instant wins. Maybe someday I WILL win! But probably not.

I totally agree willowmoon but sadly the days of $10 points only gift cards are evidently gone forever. AARP is just like the rest of the greedy folks running (ruining) this country, thinking only of themselves.
No way do I believe that AARP has had to cut back because of the economy. Considering the push that they are making recruiting new members has only enriched their coffers. There is only one reason that I think makes sense,
GREEDY, GREEDY, GREEDY
Bah-humbug. 😖

I’m always wondering exactly how does AARP saves me money. Hate Spin To Win. If I’m going to cash in reward points before they expire I’d prefer to actually get a gift card. The other rewards, if you call $2 off a $50 purchase a reward, cost way too much in reward points to even be considered a savings. I’m really questioning why I have a membership when I have never been able to use my AARP card for any savings. In order to get anything out of the membership I have to spend money. If the discount at a restaurant was worth it I would go out to eat but to save less than what the taxes are in the meal is simply not worth the amount of money I’d need to spend.

I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe it will getter better as the Holidays come through. I do wish there were more multiple restaurant cards for a given place offered at the same time for points, instead of one at a time. But the $5 a-pop starts to add up for the ones I like.

Those of us who were around for the previous program recall what we got then. The new program we have now started out great: $20 gift cards for extra credit and we could get three from the same vendor. I could get us a free meal. Now $5. 75% reduction in value and only one per vendor. Not much value there these days. I do occasionally win an instant win.

Yes, in the beginning there were $20 even $25 gift cards a month and you could redeem 3 of the same. Sometimes at the beginning of the month I would get 3 $20 of the same card and that was my limit. I was OK with that. But like everything else in life there are changes.
