Can't get gift card purchases to process

I have been trying to purchase gift cards for the past couple hours and keep getting the message that something went wrong with your transaction.  I made sure all of my information matches, and have tried both on the computer and phone, both credit card and paypal.  Why is this happening?

I have been unable to purchase gift cards for over a month.   It is a known issue with AARP yet no one seems to know how to fix it.

Large tally of people I’m noticing.

Indeed.  And as big as AARP is, I am 100% surprised by this.  There is no excuse for this many people to be having this many problems with simply trying to buy something on the site.

@RobertW935818 , did you call the AARP Customer Service? I "avoid" the Chat & Text options as they are AI. Other members are able to purchase, so maybe something to do with YOUR REWARDS ACCOUNT.

It's a known issue.  I was able to buy over 50 gift cards in the past, but have been blocked for going on two months now, and AARP seems unwilling and unable to fix anything.  As big as AARP is, I don't understand how so many people seem to have this sort of problem.  I cancelled my membership because of it.  Seems like they leave a lot of money on the table.  The payment processing works if I wanted to renew my membership.  But not gift card purchases.  Very odd.

Sadly it is because the people working in the tech support department are so clueless. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Evidently training to do this job is very low priority with this administrator. This is not rocket science. There are other companies that do this job without all these problems.
