WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE WHEELS?
The average American will own somewhere between 8-10 cars during their lifetime.
Of the cars you have owned during your lifetime, what was your favorite?
And, on the other side of the coin, what car left you the most disappointed?

The 1969 Plymouth Barracuda which I bought when I was stationed in Germany and was waiting for us when we returned home. It was in my folk's drive way. I was out of the service and went to work at Shopko in Marquette, Michigan.
The worst car was a Ford Falcon.

Cool vehicle, @DaveMcK . I don't know if you took advantage of this back then but my mother's boss(a well known lawyer) used to go to Germany every few years and buy a new Mercedes, drive it while on vacation over there, and have it shipped back here as a used personal vehicle. The money he saved driving it and having shipped as a used personal vehicle generally saved him so much money that it paid for the one or two weeks he spent in Germany.
I bet you wish that you still had that car, they are worth a fortune now. I had a 1969 Camaro. It was the coolest car I ever had. They, too, are worth big bucks now.

You people have a lot better memory than me to remember price and size from that long ago.
My 1st was a 56 Mercury, two tone, peach (?) and white. Had been a program car for boy scouts of America. lot of miles but in great shape.
Me and sweet thing were on a date, I slowed down for a wreck but the car behind didn't. No one hurt but it was the end of car.
The car I loved was a Pontiac Bonneville. Some cars are just fast and this was one of them. It had great getty up and go.
Of course the bestest cars are the 2 out front that still get us around.

My first car was a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 that my dad bought for me for $400. It was a land yacht with a 390 cubic inch engine. I accidentally pulled in front of oncoming traffic due to some construction work that was going on in the median. A new Plymouth Fury slammed into me. Thank goodness everyone was ok. The Plymouth was destroyed but my Galaxie only had the rear fender smashed. It was still drive worthy so I painted the word "OUCH' on the fender and drove it for another two years. You could literally walk on the roof of that car and the metal would not bend. Those were the days, my friend.

My favorite was my first car,a 1961 Rambler wagon.. Paid $150 for it in 1969,drove it 3 years in high school and almost 2 years after I returned from the army in 75, sold it for $3oo to a guy who wanted the engine to power a small saw mill in northern Maine.. Always started in cold weather and always brought me home.. Great memories from a much simpler time.. Great topic..

My favorite car was a Olds 98. It was a GM Executive's car and had every bell and whistle that was available at the time. It had a digital speedometer before they were common, Bose speakers throughout the car, leather seats, and loads of other stuff. It too, met a sad ending as one of my neighbor's pulled out of a side street during a rainstorm, hit it, sent my car out of control, it hit a tree and bent the car into a "V". Again, luckily, injuries were minor in nature.....except for my "one of a kind" car, of course.
