MORNING ROLL CALL! THIS ADDITION IS CLOSED
Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch! Welcome to March 2019. We had an overnight snow to ring in the morning. Going to be a busy day tomorrow. Remember that January-Feburary is CLOSED now.

Good morning, Front Porchers!
Today's one of my favorite days of the week. One whole twenty-four hour period to do whatever comes to mind (allbeit legally and morally kosher of course). The weather here is great! Cold, but sunny with blue skies and only a light breeze so far. So I'm good to go!
I woke up this morning, early, to do laundry. Load after load of overdue laundry. But I plan on a movie and dinner out later with friends. Alittle bit of work and then a little bit of play makes for a really good Saturday!
Just the other day we had snow showers and now we're moving back into Spring mode. Talk about climate change! Anyway, for those of y'all who are still in winter's grip, just know that it will get better...E-V-E-N-T-U-A-L-L-Y! And most of all, Porch Peeps, enjoy the day!

LydiaN586309,
Love the pictures in your post ๐โฅ๏ธโค๏ธ.
Catwoman500, we have the same weather here in NJ. Only tonight fog has moved in.
Frozenoem, glad you are getting some warmer temps. I will be sending out the box this week. Sorry for the delay. I had about 8 wild turkeys in my back yard. Truth is I was afraid to exit the house. Even the ๐ couldn't make them fly away. No one knows where they can from. Animal control just said they would leave. Took 4 days. No guarantee they will not return. Any suggestions form anyone?
Hope everyone is able to come and go freely from their house.

Figure this link should help you move the blighters along humanely, and probably legally .
https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/what-do-about-wild-turkeys
Depending upon numbers 20-30 member flocks, flash salute firecrackers tend to work up here. Or water hoses and air horns.
They only look big, pounds smaller than domestically raised ๐ฆturkeys.
Show them whoโs boss! They scare easily, itโs mating season for another month May for joy.
Oh yeah, have the neighbors stop feeding them, if they do only in off-ground feeders
Never said ideas were original, the link has worked for awhile, and suggested to me 30+ years back.

Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this Friday Morning. Our weatherman this morning said we will have a couple days without rain but temperatures a little below normal. Next week we should be back to normal temps.
Hoping everyone has a great weekend and normal Spring weather.

Alrighty, we survived the latest storms๐. Sanity may have briefly snapped as did most others up here.
Melt of snowpack to 3โ, add back after dual storms, back to 4โ in kennel.
Today 35* and snowpack back to 3.5 feet. I donโt seem to be the only slightly insane New Englander, had a slight gripe session with VT and NH people.
We were assisting a Flatlander to get back on road, he seemed impatient in a ditch as we talked.
He did get out after rigging for a better pull, using trees for anchors. When offered assistance with tow truck 1 hour away accept it or gripe.
AWD cruise control and he was doing 70 on back road, one lane and ice. We were doing 30, and stayed on road.
Have lost 55 pounds this year, snow is weight loss formula. My back is still throbbing but, slowly feeling less cranky.
No more snow!

@Frozenoem Say what you will your weather sounds awful. Hope you have that appointment with the specialist rescheduled. Losing 55 lbs requires new clothes! My desktop & monitor doing well BTW.
We have gone from early spring to early summer temps, with 80 degrees for 4 or more days in a row. Nights are in the 60s. Should go down to the 70s next week.

45* and cloudy with date I say it rain coming tonight.
Belief will come when I see it.
No problem on clothes deep closets, I just hope I didnโt toss the college clothes.๐คฃ Nehru anyone?
Comfy jeans no longer sold at Walmart .
Will be a Justin Wilson Cajun engineer and use Belt AND suspenders for safety purposes.
Until I discover new sizes.
Time for a stagger and pain reliever, maturity expletive.๐คฌ
Spring May have had itโs fill of snowstorms.

LaDolceVita,
Please remember I have small ๐ items here if you want or need them. All free. I will ship to you ask Frozenoem. Just got more donations.
I also have some Cat items as well if anyone is interested. I just ask that nothing is sold, as I signed a waiver to that effect. I do bring items to local shelters., monthly. I just have limited space and many friends who are food Brokers. If anyone knows a group in NJ I could reach out to ,so the donations could go there I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Nancy ๐

Mornin', All,
So much for my delight in the open windows and fresh air. I was rudely awakened around 3:00 AM by a really strong skunk breeze. Oh, wow...one of the nastiest I've experienced. It was like the critter was under my bedroom window when it blew. Could not get back to sleep after that and so hope I will sleep well tonight even though we have severe storm and wind warnings for overnight.
Just got back from the grocery store and the inside of the house still has the lingering smell. I opened all the windows again even though it is cooler than yesterday and sprayed Lysol in all the rooms and into the stairwell to upstairs. Seems to have helped and I'm good to go. If it's not one critter it's another.
Gray and damp here today with a little of @n566192l 's fog. Temp is at 66.
Have a nice Palm Sunday! N.

Hi, Porch Peeps!
Those darn snow storms across the country are so scary. I sure hope everyone is safe and will be saying good-bye to that nasty stuff. Heard this AM that there are tornadoes brewing in the South.
We have basically a gray day here; rain due over the weekend. It will be warming up thank goodness. I'm tried of the chill and want open windows. @Frozenoem ...not sure how you can stand it. It has to get harder as we "mature." Good luck keeping your pants up!
@LaDolceVita ...I'm wanting your temps!

Good Morning, Front Porchers!
Well, the BIG snow the weatherman predicted yesterday and the day before, did NOT arrive. Yay! We had some snow showers last night, but even that didn't last long. And this morning we have overcast skies, but dry, barren ground. So maybe just maybe we will be able to get through the weekend with nada snow. I hope. I hope. I hope.
To those of you in the midst of the latest visitation of snow, just know that "This Too shall Pass." Fingers crossed!
Hope blooms even in snow.

Saturday has been delayed until Sunday, one day of mid 60โs.
Followed by snow storm on Monday.
Ayuh, we did get snow last night, looks like a bit. But, that is all.

After 30 years+ in Maine I have the weirdness down pat.
Springtime snow through week , before it hits 60* on Saturday.
Canโt blame him pileup on turnpike, even tractor trailers.
When it snows 2WD gets hairy, same with 4WD. Southern Maine no snow tires, clean pavement. Here not so, much!

39* and snow/rain mixture. In last two minute my weather app has changed tonightโs forecast 4 times.
3-5 or 5-8 and repeat, Think itโs confused.
A bell for Adonis, a coat for Chelli, will pm tonight.Need to nuke, โbed buddyโ for ribs.๐คฃ
Too many 7 types with 7 diff. Connectors, Mac miniโs external display. Picture taken with smart phone and PMโed help with lines and squares , as a rule.
Next time it happens you could try pushing/wiggling the video cable in to monitor -could be loose connection to monitor or computer.
You also could do a system update for computer or browser.
Are your squares green or black or another color.
If you have external display try plugging it into different DVI port๐คฃ.Coffee just hit brain and I remember monitor is external but, there are still 7 different Mac miniโs.
Different fixes for different Mac Miniโs. Still love Windows computers for ease of service. iPhones for security most of the time.๐
Or you could try entering your issues into an - ifixit.com
search bar for your make and model #.

Nothing like computer problems first thing in AM to mess with your day! @Frozenoem may have to PM you. Monitor gets squares and lines when I ask for more tabs & more browsers open. I usually have 2 browsers open. Takes a while to give me screen back. I was hoping monitor problem as it is old, but I think its mac mini problem. More expensive to replace. I am lost w/o desktop. Ipad & phone do not take the place of big screen for me, I dont know how others do it. I rebooted in safe mode & ran disk utility and doing better now but I see trouble ahead.
Weather here is good, 70s. 2 more months and I will start compalining.

Had to laugh, LaDolceVita. I am right there with you. Love my desktop. Not only big screen, but an honest-to-goodness keyboard!
Have iPhone and Samsung tablet, but I do much better typing with all fingers than I do 'thumbing' it. Wireless keyboard. Wireless mouse (yep, still like those too). I'm a happy camper.

@MsStretch , @LaDolceVita ...Yep, same here. Nothing like a desktop for doing all my stuff.
I could never do my Ebay stuff on a tablet or phone. I can't even text the "thumb" way on my phone. I have to hold the phone with one hand and text with the other index finger...so lame! Thank goodness for the suggested words that pop up!
Gorgeous day here today! Still 65 with sun.
Oh, no @MsStretch ...just saw your new post! That is so weird. Sorry you'll be without your computer!
Birthday party was fun today.
Right now it's wine thirty!
Tomorrow grocery shopping and Ebay listings.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone. N.

@catwoman500 I cant type with my thumb . My eyes are not great either. But I still pretend I am young haha! Have you watched Mrs Wilson on PBS? We are on 2nd episode, I quite like it! I want to check TVTalk , just cannot find the time to get there.
@MsStretch I cannot even attempt "thumbing it". A woman at the grocery store saw me texting and was laughing, said she had to do it the same way I not like the kids.
@Frozenoem I believe you fixed my problem! No problem this AM. I just tightened the wire to the monitor. Be careful outside. Inside too. Your weather sounds awful
We are quite warm in Georgia! 60s over night, way too warm for April IMO. All windows open all night, almost too warm for turtleneck.

27* and heavy wet snow falling, will continue until tomorrow, with perhaps another storm the next day.
Still waiting for normal reset of furnace, tried everything short of bleeding furnace Sunday.
Your symptoms with Mac sounded like loose cable, will keep your PM in the inbox. Makes it easier trying to diagnose problems.
Awful weather - nah! If June and still snowing that would be nasty.
Just the achy breaky bones of vertigo driving me up the walls.
Years past Iโd be strapping on snowshoes and hiking, just not this year.
Aw Frak, and so, I wait for new appointment with specialist who just cancelled appointment.๐คฌ๐คฃ๐ก๐คฃ
Iโll leave those Emojiโs up for interpretation, trust me it was colorful.
Now, need to scrounge up more firewood/kindling.At least itโs warm to me.
My word suggestions on iPhone are generally colorful, and non-AARP approved. Have to double-check all posts for wording vs bleeps.
Still prefer a real keyboard but, in a pinch texts work.

YIKES! Funny how I just posted that and lost my internet & TV. (Also not so funny that Verizon wonโt be able to fix until Monday! ๐คฌ) Anyway, now Iโm forced to use iPhone (no data plan with tablet) and I am having a helluva time!
