MORNING ROLL CALL! MAY - JUNE CLOSED
Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch! Welcome to May 2019. We had an overnight shower to ring in the morning on the Front Porch! Welcome to May 2019. Going to be a busy day tomorrow if we do not have more rain. Remember that March - April is CLOSED now.

@Frozenoem Good for Chelli and for you. About the worms I mean. And my gosh, you are still waiting on that appointment! Hopefully it will prove to have been worth waiting for.
@n566192l I give up on carpets, I will never live in another house with carpets. My husband says I should live in a barnlike structure, something like a Morton building fixed up like a house. Those are actually quite nice on the inside but I think they are quite expensive. We shall see, moving is not in the immediate future.
A day out for me tomorrow with a girl friend, away from mom, dogs and all the troubles. We will have great weather. @DaveMcK Sorry you have been rained out but think of Froze, he mentioned snow near his whereabouts.

First day above 60* with no desire to touch a computer and cell has been off. I take sunshine when I get it๐คฃ.
Morton bldg of steel? I donโt know about that, steel roofs heck yeah๐ Those I love.
Carpets are a delight in cold weather. After ms Chelli and her worm treatments,5-6 Times. Went industrial strength carpet cleaning, rug doctor๐.
Re: Specialist if I can walk upright without cane and dizziness constant, Iโll be one happy camper.
Chainsaws and vertigo donโt go well together, kinda like oil and water donโt mix well. Iโm too young to feel so old.
Time to stagger, need 1/2&1/2. before it rains but, itโs not snow!
And the snows yesterday were another 6 hours Northeast from me.
Weโre a small state population wise but, land wise huge.

Would you believe I have been wearing winter coat to go outside these last 2 mornings? Looks like the low was 47. Low humidity and sunny days in Camelot, in the 7os. To my sorrow we will not see these temps for another 4 months or so.
I went shoe shopping yesterday for new Skechers. My old ones still look good and on top of that they are cute. The new ones are not very cute but feel better & I put my Walkfit arch support in them and hopefully I will not be complaining about foot pain for a while. So far so good, I do feel better. @Frozenoem I hope you are feeling better too. Your posts do sound more chipper. @DaveMcK The blue house & porch among your pictures is beautiful.

49* but, might improve, my weather app and my back both agree Warmer temps are coming.
Generally hot in mountains first , then the coast, may return to normal, I hope.
Feel better and not - curious.
Cold and fever hang on, but finally get my Dr. Appointment and blizzard wonโt be stopping him.
Now, while I canโt breathe is a good time to scrape the poopers poop- looks hookworm free.
For pmโs When click doesnโt work, what is the last character in your nom de plume. The one following n566192 is it an l, as in lion or an I as in India.
There are just times when no matter what combination is tried no one is found in AARP land๐คฃ.

Greatings,
So happy the ๐ is out today. We have had rain for the past 3 days.
Frozenoem, my last name starts with an L. I still can't get into my PM'S. Not sure what the problem is.
Love all the pictures everyone posts. Not much to report. My daughter Ashley graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. Moves today to Bayonne, NJ. Starts her job on June 3.
I have to steam clean the carpets because of the mud from the ๐.
I hope everyone feels better soon and is save. Nancy

Had an uh huh moment when the pkg arrived 5 minutes ago.
If your using android phone update it.
If using Windows 10 update it, and you may once more log into
pmโs.
If most are having issues with computers there was a mega-update today, requiring one and two restarts. One for the same patch to be applied twice with no negative effects to computer or user, other than head scratching and cuss words upon viewing update history.
And now I need to start fire. And dine. Starve cold , feed fever donโt know which, only hungry๐คฃ, and now cold.
Could be worse itโs snowing in Ft. Fairfield, ME 4 hours North.

Good Afternoon, Peeps,
Wondered why I opened my eyes at 6:45 this morning. A very odd sensation awakening to SUN!
Still had to turn up the heat, but now it's 63 outside and I opened a few windows just for the fresh air.
Celebrated the return of sun by going to Starbucks...it's double star day today.
Gotta get some stuff done.
Hope you all have a day that you enjoy. N.

54* and maybe going weather crazy, my downgraded 3โ of snow is now @ possibly 1 foot of snow coming.
The joy of life in New England, and on that cheery note back to firewood, head cold and vertigo.

53* cloudy and bringing in firewood, just in case of snow or rain or frost - covering all bases for next week.
Besides will need space for more green wood to dry out for winter.

Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this sunny and cool Friday morning. Our high today will be 59* and no rain for a while.
Sunday we will be meeting our famiy for a Mother's day brunch at the Old Depot Inn.
I'm hoping everyone has a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Our special Front Porch today is on a cottage we have stayed at. It is at our favorite lodge in Northern Wisconsin.

Cloudy with sprinkles here. 70 right now...warmer outside than in here. Storms move in later maybe. Mother's Day looks like a washout.
Nothing exciting planned for this weekend. Same old, same old. Hoping to get some of my plants into pots if the weather is going to be gentle. Picked up grape tomatoes to put in the big pot this year. Have had normal size, and cherry tomotoes, but never tried grape tomatoes before.
Hope all the Moms out there have a nice Sunday. N.

44* and raining for the moment, now. Promise of Snow coming for Monday itโs a WTFoxtrot 6โ possible.
Great day to function, start a fire, and have 2 power hits while trying to work on-line, think the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) held up but, wonโt know until later.๐คฃ
So hows the rest of the world holding up.
I had to go upcountry yesterday and found a weird bird for Maine, or at least to my viewing.
Downloaded an app - Audubon to ask, and appears to be Cormorant๐ค.
Time to play in woodpile-I guess.

@Frozenoem ...That would be a really cool bird to spot! I get excited when something different shows up around here, like a green heron stopping by on its way to a pond or something. I even like to see hummingbirds once in a while on my clothesline.HA! N.

Admit I never thought Iโd use Audubon app, until the Cormorant appeared.
Used to be Eagles, Falcons, Barn owls were all I often saw, until the hummer nested in a hanging planter a few years back.
Everytime I mowed that section of grass, would get dive bombed by unhappy momma.
But, now Iโm keeping the app for awhile or so it appears. Enjoy the night need to feed fire.

@Frozenoem, @catwoman500 Have never seen a bird like that in person. We are experiencing much humidity and it looks like rain & storms for the next 2 days. Then a return to Camelot for about 10 days with not much humidity & not too hot. Sometimes June is not bad as far as heat & humidity but some days Memorial Day kicks off the beastly weather.

Afternoon all wish I had got the weather before sleep came this morning.
Awoke to neighbor having left firewood on my porch, if this was winter Iโd expect Snow.
Autumn would mean frost, kinda curious wharโs Coming.
Must be cool NE Tempโs presently 47*, yesterday hit 68*.
Wonder if T fella has really messed the weather up so soon.

Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this first Tuesday of May! Nothing special about our weather today as it is cool with a high of 57* and no rain.

Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this first Monday of May! Well I was correct that my golf league would be rained out this morning.
When it comes to coffee I generally bring my own travel mug into coffee shops and gas stations when I travel. Most places give you a discount when you refill your own mug. I have really been surprised at how much I have saved at some places.
Our mother Cardinal is sitting on her nest. The Front Porch picture is of a lake side lodge we stayed at several years ago.

Good afternoon to everyone on the Front Porch on this first Sunday of May! Busy morning today. I got the lawn mowed, some of the window screens up, my weekly pill boxes filled and showed by noon. We are expecting more rain form this evening till early tomorrow morning.
This could mean that golf is rained out again
Hoping everyone has a great week ahead.

Good morning, All of Our Beautiful Front Porchers!
I hope everything is going well for everybody. This past week, we have braved two big rain storms here. There were several towns where flooding destroyed a lot of homes. I was one of the lucky ones because even though I did find a couple of leaks in the basement, I didn't get flooded out. Just a little mopping up and it dried out quickly. A little patching and I should be good--hopefully.
Anyway, rain is always better than snow. And as they say, "April showers (or May), brings May flowers." And being it's May means we are now in the third month of Spring and summer is soon around the corner. So happy days ahead! Happy me and.....

Good afternoon, all,
Woke up to the rain and it has been non-stop. It may end before midnight. It's 55.
Went to the grocery store in the cold rain...(why? you may ask...I am retired and can go any day). But, I am such a creature of habit and my "peeps" who also shop Sundays and those who work the Sunday shift would wonder where I am. I'd hate to have the deli lady have my order ready as she sometimes does and me not show up.
So I get home and think I need to change my shirt as it rained through my hooded jacket. Found that I needed to change my jeans and sneakers, too Hard to carry an umbrella and use a cane, so something has to give! HA! I did put the umbrella over the grocery bags to get them to the car!
Coffee and dry clothes made me feel better.
Hoping for some sun tomorrow.
@Frozenoem ...Glad Chelli is OK.
@LaDolceVita ...orthodics sound like a good option to try. When I had plantar fasciitis when I was teaching, the foot doc wanted me to get the expensive ones, but I refused. Insurance would not have paid for them at that time. So I opted to wear sneakers, but he had specific guidelines for buying a supportive one and I still make sure I run them through the test when buying a new pair:
6-7 eyelets for the laces and try to bend the shoe back...toe to heel. If it bends, then it is not supportive enough. Good luck! My p.f. eventually did go away! N.

Feel like there should be a Hallelujah Chorus playing from the town, weโve finally hit 60*, The rain has stopped and sun is coming out once more.
The snow is pretty much gone from yards, and grass is finally turning a brighter shade of green.
Next thing I know tree frogs might be chirping in the woods.
Need to check Chelli out.
Every morning itโs off the bed, with a spin in midair, to a safe landing. This morning didnโt look right.

@Frozenoem Hope she is OK!
We are into summer here for sure. Its humid and there are all kinds of insects. Mom has fallen off the bed 2 days in a row. Getting additional bed rails today. I need a break! As it is I can hardly face the day knowing how my feet will feel by the end of the day. I cannot differentiate between tthe tiredness & the foot pain.
I have been doing the rolling of the water bottle exercise for the plantar fasciitis this AM. Nothing else seems to be working.

Itโs sunny and 61*, spied my first bug and bud๐คฃ.Chell is fine she needed rest and slow moves.
Perhaps it May be time to explore Orthotics for happy feet,I started using them in my 20โs?
You could try Dr. Schollโs from a Walmart, they have a machine you stand on.
Mine have been made at B&W in Boston for last 40-50 years, and are covered by Insurance.Good for 5 years or pickup a pair of Merrelโs, they have generic footbeds. Their hiking line are like HushPuppies for comfort.
And on that note-need to go play in sunshine.๐

44* raining aka downpour, and I think thereโs a nip in the air. Might even be time to start a fire, translation Iโm to cheap to flip the wall thermostat.
Besides even Chell is complaining about the coolness this day. She doesnโt seem to enjoy snow to rain to snow to more rain.
I think I agree, just send me some heat so, I can watch the grass grow.๐คฃ
