Concerned About American Home Shield Servce

Did not get what I thought.  Had an electrical issue that was urgent and told their "chosen" vendor had no appointments for one week.   I am not renewing my coverage and urge all considering it to get full details as to response time.  Lots of rhetoric about language in the agreement that you dont see in their ads and AARP promoting tthem

According to their AARP benefits page 

"Pricing available to new members for first-year ShieldGold™ and ShieldSilver™ base plans only.  Think the discount is discontinued on 07/30/2026.

ALWAYS read the small print and the ultra, ultra small print too.  Get somebody to read it if there is no humanly way you can do it.

I think the point here was that if you are having your home/house under warranty and time is of the essence, how does having this coverage help you?  Any major disruption including electrical should be examined ASAP not a week from now when the problem might worsen quickly.  If it were a cracked window and you could put tape on it, as long as it is not a means of entry, that is one thing, but an electrical issue needs attention NOW.

I was posting more to his point about not renewing and the details in his specific policy.  But you are right, American Home Shield coverage is not for emergency situations -
