AARP discount on walmart +

The link for the discount at Walmart plus (on the AARP website) is broken / dead.  It does not take me anywhere, and Walmart cannot honor the discount without this.

Good luck at signing up if you have ever had a Walmart plus account before. I have been  going around and around with customer service (6 agents) because each time I use the AARP link to sign up it says my phone # is already in use. I'm totally disgusted.

I am having the same issue. I originally had Walmart+ and neither Walmart or AARP can help me to sign up with the $40 discount for AARP members. When I try to apply on the Walmart app. It takes me to a page that says technical issues so my attempts are fruitless. Someone please help.

This link is still broken - I've tried 3 different browsers, just a blank white screen instead of going to Walmart - please fix this! It's one of the fairly small number of reasons I might renew my AARP membership.

Hi, Earl! I've been using this discount for a year now (Walmart+ member since pandemic). It's super great (plus Walmart+ has great Paramount+ discount and others).

Try this link? Walmart.com - Walmart+ AARP perhaps that will workaround the issue you've seen with blank screen?

Thank you. That link worked!

The website appears to still be broken *and* I received an email today with the same problem.

The link takes me to the same site as when I go through the AARP website. It says "It looks like you are already a Walmart+ member" and takes me to my account page. If I look at the manage membership link, it shows that I was charged $98 last year and will be charged $98 again on July 9.

So the link isn't exactly dead, it just doesn't apply the discount. My AARP membership is good and I only have one Walmart account so it isn't applying to a different account. It just isn't applying at all.

I tried clearing cache and cookies and tried on a computer that I'd never used to access aarp or walmart.

I don't know what else to try.

Angela

This is the error message I get when I try to connect from AARP to Walmart, and nowhere does Walmart give me a place to reduce my $98 annual fee with a $40 AARP discounty

Here is the disclosure on the AARP Benefit site for Walmart +

AARP - Walmart + Benefits

Among other things, the Notice it says . . . .

By redeeming this offer, you agree that upon annual confirmation of your AARP membership, your W+ plan will auto-renew with Walmart for $58/year plus applicable taxes to your selected payment method (or any other payment method on file if the selected payment method is not available) until you cancel.

So maybe they are just waiting for you to auto-renew.

Just bringing this to your attention - I donโ€™t know anything else - I am not a member of either.

ITโ€˜S ALWAYS SOMETHING . . . . .. . . .

I just cancelled my Walmart+ membership because the information on the Walmart "My Account" indicated it would renew for $98 and NOT $58 thru my AARP membership.
I had contacted customer service twice about the conflicting information and both times they insisted I would be renewed at $98, NOT $58 as per the AARP discount.
It's completely ridiculous that such conflicting information exists.
Maybe after Nov.1st, I can try to obtain a new membership using my AARP discount.

Did that work? I am having the same exact problem. My current membership ends in 10 days on November 30. I cancelled my Walmart+ membership renewal, so I am going to try to rejoin on or after December 1 with the discount. Hopefully that will work, so I don't have to go through the rigamarole of contacting customer support and wasting my time even more for a lousy $40.
