I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to go to a Printer's Institute. Spent two years there and ended up purchasing a pair of skis as I was pretty proficient on skis passed up the gal that taught me how to ski. lol. If it wasn't so darn cold in the winter there I might have stayed but just too cold so went back to Missouri. Many years ago as I am seventy six now but would love to try skiing again. lol.
I've never had success at downhill skiing. Tried it with an instructor a couple of times over the decades, but "no go". I recently retired, so I rented skis for the season, with intention of finally getting to a point of confidence. I just went out and patiently let my body figure out what it needed to do--no instructor messing with my head! I'm happy to report that it's going very well--and I'm quite content for now just spending a couple of hours on the bunny hill. It gets me outside into some beautiful country, and lets me truly enjoy the cold weather instead of just complaining about it! ⛷❄️

Glad to hear you tried it at your own pace. At least you have some where to ski. Moving back to Missouri no place to ski. I guess I must have sold my skis as I don't have them any more. Probably too old to be on skis any more but it sure was fun so enjoy yourself.

Almost five years ago, at 81, I started doing standup comedy. Since then I have done shows from Florida up to headlining at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. I also won the AARP Funniest Comedian Contest in 2017.The feeling I get from making people laugh is so uplifting for me because I believe if I can take away someone's problems or worries, if only for a little while, it's all worth the time it takes me to prepare.
