I am trying to pay it and the court .house won't even take the payment because the order says pay directly to the the property management company. I am trying to pay it foit so it can be removed from my credit report! That is the only thing on it.thanx anyway
Not enough details to really answer your post completely but when you want to pay off an old debt, you go to whomever may own the debt at that time and they most likely will be trying to collect it -
That could be a collection agency - and by the time you might want to pay it off, a lot of fees and interest might have also accused so the debt is even higher. Be careful that you get anything they tell you in writing because they are notorious for telling fibs remember their job is to get them most money for the debt even though they may have only paid pennies on the dollar for it.
The Best thing for you to do is contact a credit counseling service. They will help you with negotiating this debt and help you repair your credit report for items there in error or need fixing if possible.
This is a non-profit one that can probably hook you up with a certified one close to where you live or you can work with them online. This i the only one that I would recommend - because I don’t know the track record of any others.
These folks, if you work with them, and do what they say, can help you turn around your financial standing but it does take work and time.
