Greetings and I hope each of you survived this winter and sunny days are either you. Iโ€™m going into my third year since the loss of my first wife. My kids are all doing better and we work to share our memories. My new wife is doing the same with her kids. We share the importance of our past spouses. Itโ€™s a special and strong bond.
take care and love well today.

๐Ÿ“Ž  Myth:

Moving on with your life means forgetting about your loss.

Fact:

Moving on means youโ€™ve accepted your lossโ€”but thatโ€™s not the same as forgetting. You can move on with your life and keep the memory of someone or something you lost as an important part of you. In fact, as we move through life, these memories can become more and more integral to defining the people we are.

Happy New Year to everyone. I usually don't make resolutions but, I can wish that we all find the strength, forgiveness and positivity to move forward. I have accepted that he is not coming back and even though I will always love him, this gigantic hole that he left in my heart is starting to heal. Ronnie will be gone 3 years next month. I think that it's time to leave the past behind and focus on the future. It's time for me to move forward and see what the future holds. Renee was married a year already in October. She graduates May 20th with her Master's degree and then they are going to start on having a family. My fur babies are good but, I had to take Beasley to the vet today. He has a yeast infection in his ear. He has medication and will be back to his normal self soon. He's 2 1/2 and weighs 52 lbs. I wish you all the best and, hope that everyone has a safe night. Will post again soon. Love you all very much.

Thanks for checking in Kimberly. It was 3 years for me in October so it makes sense that you are coming up on 3 years too. You sound good, and I wish you all the best in 2026.

Nice to hear from Marcy and Kimberly. I do indeed remember photos of Beasley. lol. It's also 3 yrs here the end of January. At the beginning I couldn't envision 3 yrs passing. How have you all made it so far? It would be interesting and helpful for others to know. For me, aging issues have had to be considered. However I've never been one to live in the past even when some present days are not easy. I do look for the good in each day and am grateful for the support and love I have. I have a friend who says we always have to plan for our future, because we always have a future. May all your futures be blessed!

I'm fine Virginia.  Retired first week of June and have just been enjoying my free time and napping a lot.  Trying to keep the house clean and get some small projects done.  I can't do much, I still need another back surgery that insurance wants to fight.  Hope you've been well.

Nicole I haven't been here much, sorry to say. I forget that grief does not go away. It also means that our loved ones have not completely gone

I read in another post about your leg? Gee, I was sorry to hear of that. Sounds like you've been going through a lot. How are you doing now? Please keep the group posted. And please take good care of yourself! ๐Ÿ™

Happy August, Iโ€™m doing well and looking forward to the fall. Still working at staying busy and also being grateful for where I am. I still recite my gratitude list nightly and it helps with keeping positive about my losses.
Hope you all are well and moving forward.

I have so many days where I don't want to go on I've had two older brothers and died last year I only have one left and I'm the only girl and my father's daughter just died last week. I'm living in independent living home right now and my roommate was just taken to the hospital for bed sores and there's days that really it's one minute at a time. Some days I just wish I had a car so I could find someone to do a Thelma and Louise with

Thank you for the notes, with 'hugs', uplifting messages.   I do sincerely appreciate all of them.

It's been 6 mths since my husband died, the beginning of the month really rough, finally the end of April I finally accepted that I couldn't have done anything else to change his outcome.

In the end I honored his wishes, and he was suffering in pain so much, I most definitely didn't wish to add or prolong his agony.

So far anyway, I don't feel like I'm going to cry at the drop of a hat everyday.   Little by little sorting through the anger of his abuse of money that we never had the chance to discuss which complicated the grief and overwhelming conflicting emotions.

I hope everyone out there challenged with grief finds this wonderfully uplifting group.

God Bless each and everyone of you.   Sending 'hugs' and positive energy to all who may want or need it.

So, today is a good day.   โค๏ธ

Wow Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 !

That is a huge step to accept that you did all that you could for your husband. The guilt and what ifs are enormous burdens to carry after a loss.

Celebrate your success, good days, and persistence in working through other aspects of your grief.

Hugs,

Marcy

๐Ÿ“Ž  SO GOOD to hear from you AGAIN Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 !!!  ๐Ÿ’›

Yes, anger is normal and WE will learn to "let go" of it as we keep stepping dear friend.

Yes, my daughter's father had chosen drugs & alcohol over being a dad to her. Sadly because of his lifestyle, COVID got him. Now she is left with "unresolved" emotions I am hoping will heal at some point. I have forgiven him. She has NOT and says she will NEVER.

Did you move out of your house?  ๐Ÿค”

I am ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU!!!
