Grief and the New Year often collide, bringing intense emotions as the calendar turns, with feelings of loneliness, anxiety, or being overwhelmed by societal pressure to "start fresh," but it's crucial to be compassionate with yourself, acknowledge your valid feelings instead of forcing resolutions, adjust traditions if needed, honor your loved one's memory, and focus on self-care, recognizing that grief has its own timeline and there's no right or wrong way to navigate this transition.

Myth:
Moving on with your life means forgetting about your loss.
Fact:
Moving on means youโve accepted your lossโbut thatโs not the same as forgetting. You can move on with your life and keep the memory of someone or something you lost as an important part of you. In fact, as we move through life, these memories can become more and more integral to defining the people we are.

Happy New Year to everyone. I usually don't make resolutions but, I can wish that we all find the strength, forgiveness and positivity to move forward. I have accepted that he is not coming back and even though I will always love him, this gigantic hole that he left in my heart is starting to heal. Ronnie will be gone 3 years next month. I think that it's time to leave the past behind and focus on the future. It's time for me to move forward and see what the future holds. Renee was married a year already in October. She graduates May 20th with her Master's degree and then they are going to start on having a family. My fur babies are good but, I had to take Beasley to the vet today. He has a yeast infection in his ear. He has medication and will be back to his normal self soon. He's 2 1/2 and weighs 52 lbs. I wish you all the best and, hope that everyone has a safe night. Will post again soon. Love you all very much.

Kim @KimberlyM389662 , I am attaching a ๐ธ picture of Mister all "snuggled" up in my bed. Lol, been COLD outside = NO prowling all night. His humans left him behind last year May 2024. He is a rebel and refuses to be INSIDE all the time. My boy! ๐
So sorry to hear about Beasley!!! ๐ฅ Wow, I can remember when he was 6 weeks old when you brought him home.
Yes, our group have been through ALOT, but we stuck by EACH other over the years.
Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by my friend.
Luv to Beasley. ๐, hope he feels better SOON.
Luv to Munchkins ๐ (geez, I know this is spelt incorrectly) & I forget the other name. ๐. Getting older. ๐
Luv,
Nicole ๐

I'm fine Virginia. Retired first week of June and have just been enjoying my free time and napping a lot. Trying to keep the house clean and get some small projects done. I can't do much, I still need another back surgery that insurance wants to fight. Hope you've been well.

Lisa @LisaJP6763 , I hope you can get your additional back surgery VERY SOON. Back pain is NO FUN!!! Between me and the other old lady issues (2006 Hyundai Elantra), I started Indivdual Counseling last month. Grateful Medicare pays 100% for 12 sessions each year. I may have cancer & trying not to worry. ๐ Counseling has kept me out of the Crazy House. Lol, car spends more time at my mechanic these days. Anyway, GLAD you finally got to retire. Working while in PAIN was just awful. ๐ค Time to feel better. SO GOOD to hear from you dear friend, Nicole ๐ค

Happy August, Iโm doing well and looking forward to the fall. Still working at staying busy and also being grateful for where I am. I still recite my gratitude list nightly and it helps with keeping positive about my losses.
Hope you all are well and moving forward.
