My husband passed away

I am feeling so lonely since my husband passed away.  The house is so silent.  I'm trying to do things with friends, but even when I am laughing with them, inside I feel like crying.  I feel so empty inside!  😞

Dear @SaddestOne , first of all - I am so sorry for your loss dear friend.  ‌😞

Grief in my opinion is a lifelong journey with good and bad days.

You are doing GREAT with stepping out with friends.  ‌👍

Have you thought of trying counseling?

I did for a few months last year 2025. It was a place to "express" ALL of my emotions. She let me TALK & CRY.

Anger was my BIGGEST challenge. Anger that he died TOO SOON in my opinion.

Yes, WE can feel "so lonely" in the home we shared with them. ALL those "memories" surrounding us ALL THE TIME.

Some of us took some time AWAY whether it was a vacation or just time away with friends & family staying at their home.

It will get EASIER I promise as WE get up EACH day and welcoming what comes our way.

WE are always here for you!!!

Thank you so much.  I went to a grief group counseling last week.  It really helped.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. What you’re experiencing is a very real part of grief being around others can help, but it doesn’t take the pain away right now. You’re not alone in feeling this, even though it feels that way. Be gentle with yourself and take it one day at a time.

Thank you so much for your kind words.  It helps to know someone understands.  I have tried counseling and it helps some, but I am going to try some group therapy in person and see how that goes, too.  Thanks for responding.  Very helpful.

You are welcome @SaddestOne !!!

I like my "privacy" and it took about 2 years for me to do the Counseling through Medicare. GRATEFUL it didnot cost me anything as things are very tight these days. I just needed about 3 months, then I was READY to start LIVING AGAIN. I literally became a hermit in 2023 to 2024. Finally felt a NEED to move forward in 2025. Scared, but willing to see what was OUTSIDE my 4 walls. 👍

Please stop by to let us know how you are doing when you can.

Thank you!  Please tell me about the Medicare counseling!  I have Medicare, but did not know about Medicare counseling.

Be glad to @SaddestOne !!!

Well, first I CALLED Medicare after researching on Google.

Wanted to MAKE SURE I "qualified" = no interest in getting a bill in the mail.

(1) Medicare covers one counseling session EACH month IF your Primary Care Physician "refers" you.

(2) I didnot see or hear about any LIMITS on how long we can have these sessions. So not sure. I did 3 months and have NOT received a bill of any kind.
