I read your comment with great interest because your past experience is common to many. It’s not easy to maintain faith in a world consumed with hate, crime, violence and a general lack of love. Life admittedly is not easy because we live in critical times. Each day presents a test of our faith with different challenges but we can successfully face these tests if we metaphorically “throw our burdens” on one who can sustain us; Almighty God. In fact he encourages us to do just that at Psalms 55:22. In order for us to “throw our burdens” on God we have to believe that he exists and cares for us. This is a fundamental fact stated in the Bible at Hebrews 11:6. If you have time, make a careful examination of the book that reveals God’s thoughts, promises and personality – the Bible any translation.
Here are a few scriptures that will encourage you not to give up and offer a hope of better times to come:
[1] Know and use God’s personal name – Psalms 83:18
[2] Believe that he exists and is the one Almighty God –
Isaiah 42:8
[3] Pray to him using his name – Matthew 6:9
Our faith that God is real should move us to action. He does not temp us. If we are undergoing stressful times, prayer is the most important step we can take. If prayer wasn’t important then Jesus gave the model prayer for no purpose.
It’s the Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for that offers the solution to all of our problems. Read at Revelation 21:3, 4 the guarantee of a priceless future reward that reveals the depth of God’s generosity and love – everlasting life in Paradise on earth.
