  has AARP been hacked? Nobody takes days for maintenance unless they have been hacked.

If the site was hacked, AARP needs to provide transparency to inform members if our personal data, social security info, and credit card numbers were exposed.   As a precaution, it's best to put a freeze with the 3 credit bureaus (Experian,  Equifax, and Transunion).

@SummerOnTheWay1  You can cancel your credit cards, but the better option would be to put a credit freeze with the 3 credit bureaus to prevent identity theft and to prevent the thieves from opening new credit accounts under your name.  Closing out your credit card may impact your credit rating.

If you are concerned about the credit card being hacked, call your bank to cancel the affected credit card and issue a new  number.  I strongly recommend to put a credit freeze with the 3 credit bureaus to protect against identity theft.

You got that right!!  Blithering incompetence surrounds that site at all times, and now this!! Of course, we still get to listen to self-important, grossly overpaid CEO's message when we call in.
