AARP Hearing Center
If the site was hacked, AARP needs to provide transparency to inform members if our personal data, social security info, and credit card numbers were exposed. As a precaution, it's best to put a freeze with the 3 credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and Transunion).
[9/14/25] @JoLo49 , what about "canceling" credit cards used to purchase giftcards? Nicole!

@Winter2025VA You can cancel your credit cards, but the better option would be to put a credit freeze with the 3 credit bureaus to prevent identity theft and to prevent the thieves from opening new credit accounts under your name. Closing out your credit card may impact your credit rating.
[9/14/25] @JoLo49 , I was thinking of doing BOTH. Thanks, Nicole!

If you are concerned about the credit card being hacked, call your bank to cancel the affected credit card and issue a new number. I strongly recommend to put a credit freeze with the 3 credit bureaus to protect against identity theft.
[9/15/25] Thanks @JoLo49 , I will do BOTH. Nicole 💛
