AARP Hearing Center
I was shocked to see the latest AARP bulletin cover. Giant red splash - COVID - Exclamation points about affecting your brain, Super Contagious, Urgent vaccine guidelines, Christmas Spikes, the whole cover looks like the National Enquirer and is clearly designed to shock and scare people. I'm as concerned about COVID as anyone else, but your target audience is full of seniors who may see this cover and become truly alarmed. I guess you think it sells magazines though right? I will not be bringing this edition over to my 82 year old mother like I usually do, and I'm considering cancelling my membership over this. Really disappointed in AARP.
Yes, I agree that the cover for September 2024 was alarmist, thank-you for pointing this out. The article also depended on persons reading it to make leaps of judgement. Just because one experiences “symptoms” after having had COVID, does not automatically mean this is what they resulted from. It is no surprise that people have panicked and visited the ER more. It stands to reason in my mind that possibly the vaccine itself could have side effects such as these also. But, we don’t dare suggest that!!
