Guacamole 🥑 (My Super Bowl MVP!)
This is my go-to because you can make it several hours ahead and keep it refrigerated. To prevent browning, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the guacamole.
Ingredients:
• 2 ripe avocados, coarsely chopped
• ½ cup minced onion
• 1 jalapeño chile, minced (remove seeds and ribs for less heat)
• 1 plum tomato, seeded and diced
• ¼ cup chopped cilantro
• 2–3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
• Coarse salt (I use sea salt)
Directions:
In a bowl, combine the avocados, onion, jalapeño, tomato, cilantro, and lime juice. Season with salt and mix to combine, mashing slightly.
When serving, I pair it with lime-flavored chips—they really bring out the citrus and freshness.
Simple, fresh, and always a hit. What’s your MVP dish this year?
The ones I went to kept it simple, cheese dip made from Rotel and Velveeta, with a lot of different chips. Sausage and cheese tray with several types of crackers, little smokies made with grape jelly and bbq sauce. Half time was pizza time, on this one everyone help pay for.
Ice and cups were furnished but everyone brough their drink.
@papawofboo, This sounds like the perfect no-stress setup. Rotel + Velveeta is always a crowd-pleaser, and those little smokies disappear fast 😄
