๐๐ Lol, car back in mechanic shop. Anyway, took bus to Kroger (where I was headed this morning) from mechanic. This time they had me have AAA TOW her in, NOT start her to see what is DRAINING new battery. Now you understand why I only drive Mondays thru Thursday = when mechanic is open./lol ๐คฃ๐
Anyway, have my LAST Blood Pressure pill THIS WEDNESDAY and when I had planned on stopping by CVS.
Bus does NOT go that way, so my daughter will have to Uber me the whole way and back.
Glad I got my OLD LADY bus ID the last time car was in shop. Saves on uber cost. But none go up my hill from Kroger.
Anyway, they are keeping her.
Can I have my meltdown now??? ๐ค๐ค๐ค

Nicole,
Iโm so sorry about your car! So terrible to have car problems. I hope your mechanic can fix it and make it dependable for you. We ladies canโt be breaking down out there. Not like we have a guy at home to call. Tomorrow will be a better day.

THOSE ANNIVERSARIES!!! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
I know our Julie @JulieT507376 has her 1st anniversary on December 4th. Losing YOUR Mark was "unexpected" and SO UNFAIR dear friend
What has HELPED me so far is HONORING them with living MY NEW LIFE the way they lived THEIRS.
I have NOT been "close" to alot of people as I AGE and "distance" myself from family drama - but my Mamamae (maternal grandmother) is ALWAYS with me. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
As a teenager, I MARVELED at how she lived AFTER Grandpops died in his sleep after walking home from his business. Buses were on strike and he refused one of his son's offer to come get him. This was in Kingston, Jamaica West Indies. A very long and dangerous walk for a man in his late 80's.
Anyway, he died doing what he luved (his Catering School) and Mamamae joined him at age 104.
NOT ONCE did she show her sadness, kept busy and luved me as usual. She KNEW I still needed her unconditional luv I NEVER got from my dysfunctional parents (alcoholic father who beat her, she refused to leave him).
So NOW I am TRYING to live like Mamamae did. Being there for my only child, a daughter.
Julie, I AM SO SORRY for your loss dear friend.
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ (Grief Forum)

Thank you sweet friend for your kind words. It seems like yesterday I received the devastating call that Mark had passed. Iโm still lost without him. Iโve had to grow up a lot this past year. Made decisions that may not have pleased my two sons! But I survived the year! I still live in my house with Sadie in the country. The house Mark built and died in. Iโve got this! (Most days!.)

The wheels of progress in the medical world move slowly ..I am no where closer to knowing what's going on so an xray will have to be done and scripts for getting rid of the pain but they don't seem to be working ..I did find out that I have a UTI so more scripts for that..I think I'll request a gasologoist someone that deals in the digestive system from head to toe..I don't have blood clots though which is encouraging news..So I'm still dealing with the pain almost 2 weeks now..Just trying to get comfortable is hard to get some sleep..Hoping that relief of some sort is on the horizon...

Hi Marcy @MarcyW882921 , when you have time to WALK, where do you and for how long?
I do each night since getting my pre-diabetes diagnosis THIS YEAR. My Medicare doctor suggested EXERCISE and low carb mediterrean diet. You can "reverse" it with these CHANGES. Hoping to do so in time for NEXT year 2025 Medicare lab work.
*** I had started out with 1 hour walk inside my Studio Apt to music. Soon got BORED. ๐๐๐
*** Switched to half hour with NO music = get it over with thing.
Ideally when I move, want to maybe return to walking outside again. My area has changed, no longer safe.
I had switched to Exploration Walks when I had stopped my Neighborhood Walks. Those were REALLY FUN and sometimes ran into nice folks. I would find a busy and safe place to park. Then explore the area on foot. Between gas prices and car getting older (more repairs ๐ญ), I put that on hold. But want to again when I move. Would luv to live near "green" spaces. Lol, my "use to be" suburbs is now RETAIL CITY and traffic gridlock = built on green areas. Oh well, progress I guess.
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค (Grief Forum)

Nicole @Spring2025 ,
My walking is generally dependent on my schedule for the day. I switch between 20, 30, 45, and 60 minute time segments. I figure whatever I can fit in is beneficial to me emotionally and physically.

Nicole @Spring2025 ,
I walk inside my house, in my neighborhood, at a couple of nature preserves, at a park, or at a Japanese garden. It all depends on the weather and the time I have available.

Until tests blood etc. come back she didn't say what she thinks order scripts for indigestion and because of allergy to dye I couldn't have xray so it's a guessing game and I have to go back in two weeks for consultation ..Hopefully the 2 scripts will ease the discomfort that I have been going through...I wrote down all the happenings and there were still endless questions when/how long etc...She didn't seem to be in a good mood and my daughter wasn't to pleased with her demeanor and said it loud enough for her to hear and her tone changed when she returned to examining room...

Group Discussion: COMFORT FROM LUV ONES WE LOST!!! ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Tell us about YOUR comfort.
*** As I lay in bed right NOW looking out my one window at the fall colors, it hit me that there is a GENTLE BREEZE moving the leaves on ALL the trees I am seeing. My sign from my Grandparents who knew how much comfort hiding in my (yes mine/lol) HUGE tree as a child. A spot to let the wind rock me back and forth as I read or napped amongst the branches. Lol, and NEVER fell out. I am MISSING them big time right now. Thank you Grandpops and Mamamae for keeping me SAFE as a child.

FROM GOOGLE.
Some people believe that deceased loved ones may try to contact us through signs, dreams, or other subtle ways. Here are some possible signs:
[1] Sensing their presence.
You may feel like your loved one is with you, or you might hear or see them. These are known as grief or bereavement hallucinations.
[2] Electrical interference.
You might experience unusual electrical activity, such as flickering light bulbs, power outages, or other disturbances with electronics.
[3] Feathers.
Feathers are a symbol of remembrance, and some say they appear when loved ones are near.
[4] Dreams.
You might have dreams about your loved one, where you have conversations with them, receive guidance, or share moments of comfort.
[5] Smells.
You might smell a scent that you associate with your loved one, such as their perfume or roses.
[6] Sounds.
You might hear your loved one's favorite song right after thinking about them, or you might hear them call out.
[7] Numbers or dates.
You might see your loved one's favorite number or an important date, like their birthday, repeatedly.
[8] Notes or letters.
You might find notes or letters written by your loved one in unexpected places.
[9] Animals.
You might feel that your loved one is contacting you through animals.
[10] Comments.
You might have a stranger say something to you that your loved one was known for saying.
*** Spiritual beliefs vary widely, but many cultures and religions believe that our connections with those who have passed continue in some form.
