Points for Outspell and Codeword!

Love that these two games are being added for points according to our newsletter!

BUT

No points given today for Codeword (probably not yesterday either).  Did get points today for Outspell.

@AARPConsumerCare  Could you see that the two new games are added to the games menu under Earn, please?

Why does AAPR sit on a $11 billion nestegg from a major health insurer but can’t fix simple game credits? Each day is a crap shoot. What activity will NOT credit me today? These two are almost automatic - win and go home empty.

Going to post this for a final time:

Some games have linkage to originators sites so connectivity is sometimes an issue.

For at least the last two years, here is what I do:

Codeword: open Hurdle in another tab/window; then return and do Codeword. Before submitting I then do Hurdle; after receiving that reward, return to Codeword, submit, successfully receive the 300 Reward points.

Outspell: same as above except I play Word Wipe after playing Outspell, before submitting Outspell for rewards.

One final thought, the internet is not perfect nor is connectivity so let's all just relax and enjoy when it works and ignore when it doesn't (FYI our inet was down for 4 then 1.5 hours today in Vegas; not happy). We've done that in real life, so...

I don’t understand why I don’t get points for Outspell.  Sometimes I do, but not usually.

If you didn’t earn points for playing a badge game, you likely did not meet the requirements needed to receive points. Unlike videos and quizzes, points are not awarded simply for playing a badge game. This is not any type of system error. AARP has article about this. Here are some links to some articles about this. i think the point several of us are making is that we meet all the requirements, play the game correctly, push all the right buttons....and still, nothing.   That article does not help.  The games are not programmed correctly for the points to be consistently awarded. And repeat many, many times with same result.

Well, you can't say you met the requirements because none of us know exactly what they are; they aren't published. There are reasons for that approach, and it's not unique to this program. Many rewards programs in the marketplace use similar practices and do not disclose their specific qualification criteria. This helps protect the program's integrity and prevents bad actors from exploiting or manipulating it. I'm simply trying to explain the point earning for gameplay.

@rg54078 Interesting post.  I think the integrity is what is missing here.    So if there’s specific qualification criteria purposely used, and not disclosed to protect integrity, I feel it’s missing the mark.

I understand your perspective. Transparency is important, but I don't think the lack of published criteria necessarily means there is a lack of integrity. Many rewards and loyalty programs intentionally do not disclose every qualification detail to help protect the program from abuse. I'm simply trying to explain how game point earnings work, as this topic has come up many times in the community. 

My goal isn't to dismiss anyone's concerns, but to clarify that if points weren't awarded, it doesn't mean there's a system issue; rather, it reflects how the program is set up to work.

   And that would be all fine and good, however in this situation, the entire site needs a permanent fix and not just Band-aids.

   I Just played Outspell and did NOT get any points, like others as well have said.  Funny thing is, I always get points, without fail.  May have to hit play again button sometimes to trigger it, but it always comes.  I don’t think in these cases it’s a matter of qualification criteria not being met.  I do appreciate what you’re saying though.  Just don’t think that’s what’s in play here.

That's odd.  Never had any problem with Outspell but never had any luck with Codeword.  And Scrambled Words does not work properly.

And now no points for Outspell and someone on Games forum is complaining about bad scoring in Codeword.  These programmers continue to mess up.

 Outspell is working correctly for the most part, fortunately.   Still no points for Codeword.  I refresh the browser before playing just in case but that's not it.  Continued frustration.

 I play Codeword everyday.  I finally got points yesterday (Sunday Dec 22), but NO points today! I am going to watch if I get points next Sunday! ??

Follow-up to my comment:  There is NO consistency in getting the reward points for Codeword.  If the programmers are looking for any other clue to the problem, there is no better success by accessing the games through the EARN POINTS menu.

@dk4579305 @AARPConsumerCare   Yes, the issue is back.  I celebrated the day I first was rewarded the points only to have it revert back to no points the next day.  Could this issue be escalated with the techies, please?  One cannot go back and repeat it trying again and again as I used to do with Word Wipe before it was straightened out.

@AARPJanelle @AARPConsumerCare   Thanks but someone already gave an adjustment.  However, the game continues to not award points as of today 1/23.  I did get points once and made the mistake of celebrating.   I think @WebwiseWoman  is correct that the game is set to award points once a week although I doubt I've gotten it that much but I did get it once this week. One of the admins declared it works correctly and it absolutely does not.   The other games are working for me now, fortunately.

Tried to do this but cannot locate "My Settings"   It does not appear on any of the AARP screens.  No envelope so I imagine it's not enabled.

NO points for Codeword still.  I am very surprised Codeword was promoted in the weekly email when it still doesn't work for a lot of us.  Have played every day since it came up with points in November.  Fun and challenging game....but disappointing with points maybe one time (and on a Sunday as someone else said).  I thought perhaps someone had programmed it to once a week points but  I didn't get points this past Sunday.
