Certain video pages appear in Spanish

 I usually set the earn videos to Earn Frequency.  When I get to some of the later monthly pages, they appear as if my account is in Spanish, and I don't get any points for them!  Certain other videos don't give me points either.  I try to remember which ones those are, and skip them. I have no idea why this happens (especially the Spanish).  I've deleted cookies but that didn't help.  Kind of annoying...

[8/28/25] Michele @MicheleW321192 , personally I "skip" those moving forward. I may be wrong, but I feel this is NOT fixable due to "outdated" software. The same with the BLACK screen ones./lol. Anyway, it is what it is. Nicole!

Keep in mind this is NOT the "only" one.

 

I made a list of videos to "skip" & add to it as the ones that use to work "properly" DONOT.

 

Was a pain to create list, but now I am glad I did. Saves me time when I do decide to watch them.

I am aware of 5 videos that do not award  points - all of which have been referred to @AARPConsumerCare multiple times with no resolution. I have not encountered the black screen that you mentioned. When/where are you seeing this?

Hi Michele @MicheleW321192 , AARP Consumercare @AARPConsumerCare cannot fix this. The IT Department would but IF AARP refuses to "update" their software - nothing they can do. There are several BLACK SCREENs, but here are a few. I happen to be watching videos, so list is beside me. 

 

(1) How to identify fake emails.

 

(2) Travel scams to avoid.

 

(3) What tech features can help prevent scams.

 

(4) How to lose weight after 50.

 

(5) Superfoods that give you a health boost.

 

(6) Quick walks to control blood sugar.

 

(7) Do I have the flu or coronavirus?

 

**** Lol, yes - I also had a few that DONOT award points.

As of today 7/30, the 3 videos reported on 6/28 have not been fixed.

The problem is not with my account.

 

There are also 6 videos previously reported (twice) by WebWiseWoman that have not been fixed.

Thank you Brandon. It is frustrating not getting the points but more frustrating when we report issues that do not get resolved. All these videos had the AARP Rewards badge and were watched until the end. No error messages were displayed.

  It happens to me also; it is a software glitch that has yet to be fixed. It would be nice if someone could check out the software before putting it online for us to use.

Thanks, Nicole; probably since the videos worked correctly before the 20-Jan-2025 upgrade, it was error during transferring the files. Worked for major gaming/entertainment/hospitality entity IT (operations)  for 20+ years, so these malfunctions are glaring to me.
