The Holidays are upon us and while it can be a time of great joy and a welcome change of pace, it can also mean an increase in stress for family caregivers. We want it to be perfect for everyone (including ourselves!). We want to carry on family traditions that may be more difficult to pull off this year due to our caregiving schedules, our loved ones' abilities and our own exhaustion!
How do you manage the holidays? How do you feel about the season this year? Will you be doing anything different this year?
Here's my column, 10 Tips for Caregivers During the Holidays, with some ideas, gleaned from my own experience of 35 yrs of family caregiving and from talking with many other family caregivers. Hope these are helpful!
Please post here in the comments your coping strategies, your questions about how to cope and adjust things - and anything else you are thinking about The Holidays this year!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Take care,
