Hartford Insurance and no duffel bag
I contacted Hartford for a quote and received one and the rates were not that good. I did this on Nov 7 th 2024 and am expecting to receive the duffel bag as advertised in the AARP Mag.
No bag yet and by the looks of it, I won't be getting one based on other responses in this blog. AARP has received compensation from Hartford Ins for advertising and they should stand behind what is published.
I will not be renewing my AARP membership because you are just as guilty as the people/company you associate with. AARP used to be a organization you could rely on as being honest and support their members.

After seeing an ad in AARP Magazine offering a duffel bag with a quote. The rates weren’t great, and I still haven’t received the bag. Based on what others have said, it doesn’t look like I will get it.
AARP should make sure that what they advertise is true. I’m not renewing my membership because they seem okay with companies like Hartford not keeping their promises.
I’ve had better luck with deals on GMA, where I bought a new product and actually got what was promised.

AARP promotes Hartford insurance when they should kick Hartford's butt. Premiums are over-priced and they advertise a free duffel bag but don't deliver. If you continue to support Hartford, then you do not support your members. That might be why some of us become non-members.

@trjeffries , this has been going on for years and will never change = AARP is being paid by Hartford.

Dirk,
Its not the free item, its the come-on that is the issue. I did respond within the time limit, and there should be at least a response from Hartford or AARP that they ran out of items. I see there are new offers coming out, so I am sure they won't be honored as well. Scams everywhere, and the Hartford/AARP association is just another one.
