Grocery store gift cards are not available anymore
Gift cards for Kroger, Albertson etc. are not available anymore. I hope it is just temporary.
Kroger gift cards went away in August 2024, and they brought it back a couple months later.
Being able to get grocery at 8% off is quite meaningful in today's high prices. Please reply if you also would like to see grocery gift cards again.

i have to laugh (I know, it sounds mean!) when people say they are frustrated and want to quit being an AARP member because they're not getting value ... (even ignoring the great information and advocacy). The discounted grocery store gift cards saved more than the annual membership, so hope those come back - the gift cards, not the complainers. (and thanks for posting this info). 20% is not rare for many retailers, but if you can get 5% cashback for grocery stores, you're doing okay. 8% (especially now !) is a big help to all of us ....🤞hope they come back soon.

2 months thusfar!
Can anyone remember how long the LAST Kroger card embargo was on? 3 months?
I AM COMPLAINING, if ppl do not complain then the company whoever they may be doesn't even attempt to adjust their policies.
I SAY AGAIN... supposedly, AARP can influence Congress, but, cannot git a few discounts from a long term member on the Rewards boards, namely... KROGERS
My membership runs out in fall and will steer clear if this doesn't come back ! ! ! Signed, voting with my feet & dollars...

I appreciate and have benefited from the discount grocery gift cards. I’m sure that AARP would like them restored. Thank you for having had them, and I hope they can be restored. So meaningful. They certainly influenced me to shop at Safeway, Albertsons, and Fred Meyer.

This is super disappointing that Kroger and Albertsons brand gift cards have been removed. I also won’t renew my membership if these don’t come back as this is by far the best AARP benefit for our family.
@AARPConsumerCare Brandon C do you know if this is expected to be a permanent change? Or do you anticipate these to come back like Kroger did in 2024? Thank you.

I am SOOOOO disappointed in losing the Albertsons/Safeway gift cards. I recently renewed my membership because of these. I also do the AARP rewards videos/quizzes daily. I have found that there are so any broken links and videos that you watch (including those miserable ads); not working for months and then
do not receive credit for. I've called several times giving the names of the broken.non-working titles. They've given me credit for them however not fixed all of them. How long should that take. The ads always seem to work 😞
Between these 2 headaches, I'm truly reconsidering requesting a refund. Engagement shouldn't be this difficult.

dumb question of the day and please feel free to not answer if it involves something personal - but only one person needs to have a membership and the spouse can be added for free if living at the same address ..... am I missing something ??? Spouse gets all of the same benefits but own membership card and signs up for unique AARP account ....

Hi @RcD316530, let me clear that up. You can add a second adult member living at your address for free. They're also able to receive their own membership card, which we will automatically send after you add them to your account. You can learn more here: https://aarp.info/3ijdq8m. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. - Daniela R.

Ive called AARP about that b4. I was told, AARP isn't in control of their discounts section, the vendors are.
Of course, I laughed. Or is this following statement true; AARP can't influence vendors to support their members, but , can influence Congress?" Hmm?
Which is easier? Hmm?

I've counted on the discounted Kroger & Albertson's gift cards for many years, and the savings, combined with buying less, has kept me in the black (barely). Without these gift cards available, I will have to rely on food banks, and will have to spend even less.

[Wednesday 3/12/25] Brian @BrianO26851 , I am SO SORRY to hear this!!! Gone are the days when AARP "cared" about people. And Food Banks are being "depleted" as LESS is being donated. Take care, Nicole 👵

We hope you stay with us, @BaiqingW981908. We understand your concern. While at this moment, we currently don't have grocery gift cards available for purchase as a regular item in our catalog, we periodically offer promotions that provide opportunities to obtain grocery-related gift cards through our Daily Deals, Extra Credit activities, Instant Wins, or Sweepstakes. Keep an eye on our catalog. - Diana G.
