Learn a new career for retirement

I was thinking of what I would do if I was to retire from my current job and I thought why not do something you love doing, interior design/decorating.  However I don't have any experience in that field except for decorating my own home.

 

Does anyone know what I would need to do to be able to get into this business, even just as an assistant part time.  I really don't want to have to go back to school for 4 years after retirement, but I would be willing to sit for a certification perhaps that would allow me to do this.  Thoughts?
