Survior benefits

Hypothetically if I am receiving $700 a month and my husband is receiving $1200 a month, my survivor benefits would be his $1200, and not his plus mine?

@ba9908 That is correct. Should your spouse pass you would get the larger of your benefit or your husband’s. 

there are some provisos on this for special circumstances but generally what you describe is correct
