How safe do you feel now?

I just wondered, how safe do you feel about your life now? I worry about people having access to my banking information through access to my social security account information.

I'm worried they'll re-take my monthly stipend, which is what I use for rent and food. The next step would be not sending my monthly stipend. I'm so scared I'll end up on the curb again, through no fault of my own this time.

I'm not feeling secure at all.  Access to our data is a concern.  But my bigger concern is that they are cutting jobs and closing offices at Social Security.  Currently, the system works pretty well.  These cuts will make the system increasingly dysfunctional.  They will hollow it out and then claim it's not working.  That will give them an excuse ax it or significantly change it.  I'm not sure what that would look like.  But for people like me who have been paying in their whole lives and now rely on it, it's very scary.  I have written to my congresspeople to oppose what's happening.

I guess my answer to your question is somewhat. I would hope they are smart enough to know that if they take SS, they are messing with everyone's life. No Rep. or Dem. excluded. For sure they would lose our vote, and I would hope that my (our) children or g/children would not vote for them. Saying all that, my answer is still somewhat.

For years people have said that things need to change in Washington, well they are changing. I pray every day that our elected officials know what they are doing, and they aren't doing this stuff for their personal gain.
