Yes, I had heard "various" versions of what would happen with my RETIREMENT Social Security Payments during the October 1st shutdown. But I ALWAYS call or visit Social Security when I want to KNOW something = reliable source.
Lol, now I can RELAX and NOT worry about paying rent NEXT month.
Hopefully things return to NORMAL so folks who are are RETIRING THIS YEAR 2025 can get their benefits TOO.

Really? I have never found them to be that reliable when reading from a script rather than something factual about the system and they are referencing either the Medicare Manual or the SSA POMS ( Social Security Program Operations Manual System) - the primary source of information used by Social Security employees to process claims for Social Security benefits, including signing up for Medicare.

Gail @GailL1 , when I have questions about MY Retirement Social Security, I TRUST the Social Security EMPLOYEES over THIS AARP Social Security Forum = AARP employees NEVER respond in it. The responses are coming from AARP Members/non-members. It would be AWESOME if AARP got some AARP Experts who are Social Security EMPLOYEES to respond to posts in the AARP Social Security Forum.
Take care,
Nicole!
