Quick question in regards to timing of applying for SS benefits.

 I'm currently 69 and 8 months, can I apply for benefits now but I want benefits to start after 2/10/2024 when I turn 70 or do I have to wait until then to start the application?

IF you want your benefits to begin FOR 02/2024 - begin the process NO MORE than (3) months ahead of time.  SS Benefits are paid one month in arrears - so a benefit check for Feb. 2024 would be paid in March 2024.

I'm having the same question: If I want my first payment in June 2024, which is the May  payment, I should apply in February, 2024.  Correct?

Consider the month that you want to physically receive your 1st benefit check - June - so you can apply in March - 3 months ahead of the scheduled payment date.
