Creating a SS Account

https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL/SiView.action provides two options for creating an account: Login.gov and ID.me. Are there any pros or cons for each one? For example, has the government said anything about phasing out one? I don't want to run the gauntlet of creating an account and then have the SSA or other federal agencies discontinue using it.

Thanks!

Thanks! I created an account using Login.gov. Took just a couple of minutes and was pretty straightforward.
