telikin computers

Have any of you bought a telikin computer, and if so did you like it and was it worth the price?

@JeffreyB484420    There are several threads (discussions) on the AARP forums (this forum and another one or two) that discuss the Telikin computers. Apparently users are not happy. To Telikin's credit, the head of the company posted a reply in one long thread and he made some good points.

You can search the forums for "Telikin" to find any discussions.

My own observation is that Telikin is likely to be older technology (slow) and is costly. I would try using something like a "tablet"...an iPad or similar Android device (I am not an Apple fan but I would push you in the direction of the Apple iPads), These are all touch screens, so , no mouse needed. And you should be able to use an external keyboard so it's almost like using a computer. Multi-tasking is  either not possible or practical on tablets, but for someone looking at a Telikin this shouldn't be an issue (although you can have multiple apps open on the iPads at least, not that it's as easy to multitask as on a pc/laptop).

Another simple option are Chromebooks, which use the Google Chrome operating system rather than Windows or Macintosh (Apple). The Chromebooks can be had much cheaper than these other systems. There are some drawbacks to Chromebooks but probably compare favorably to Telikin.

Good Luck!

Never heard of it. I'm a Dell user.

@cat0w  My first computer was a Dell 386 back around 1994. I was highly impressed with the build quality of all the components (CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse). These items were of commercial quality. Nay, Industrial Quality! If they were not obsolete they'd still be running. I had a couple other Dells and liked them. My last Dell was an Inspiron laptop from around 1999/2000. That was garbage. It was so heavy the chassis flexed and screws would pop out. The Windows ME operating system was a joke as well.

My next computer was a Sony Vaio laptop from around 2006. I loved that little guy and still have it. Did not like its Windows Vista OS though. Far preferred the mainstream business versions of Windows used at my office. My current computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad T460 with Windows 10 Pro, bought in 2016. This thing is a champ. Windows 11 will not install though so I will have to upgrade this year probably. Another Thinkpad for me.

(Still using some Dell external monitors. These are great as well)

Thanks for providing me the chance to travel down memory lane.  :- )
