Last, but not least, almost everyone has heard Chuck Berry's Run Rudolph Run, but did you know that Keith Richards did a cover of it?
1. Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt
2. Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano
3. I'll Be Home for Christmas by Bing Crosby
4. The Little Drummer Boy - choral version
Time/Life Christmas CDs and Chicago's first Christmas album (I love their version of Let It Snow).
Mary, did you know Kenny Rogers and
Wynonna Judd
My absolute favorite Christmas carol is Patapan. I love it in any rendition, but the one by Mannheim Steamroller is on my road-trip playlist no matter what time of year I'm driving.
Never Heard of it. Checked it out. It's good. Listened to Steamroller, and Julie Andrews.
Thanks for the tip.
Pretty Paper - Willie Nelson
Also love the Glen Campbell version
My eclectic list of favorites:
Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord by Bony M; Twelve Days of Christmas by The Muppets; The Chipmunks Christmas Don't Be Late; All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey; Little Drummer Boy by almost anybody, any Christmas song by Gene Autry; Blue Christmas by Elvis; Last Christmas by Wham!; Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano; Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives; Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon & Yoko; Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney; Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms; Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee; Sleigh Ride by The Ronettes; and any Christmas song "sung" by real frogs or cats.
Hey Howdigit65, i like your list!
Thanks!
A few more that I left off that list:
White Christmas - the version by The Drifters
The 12 Pains of Christmas by Bob Rivers
The 12 Gifts of Christmas by Alan Sherman
Here is my list : Father Christmas by The Kinks, Little St. Nick by The Beach Boys, Santa is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band, Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon, Do They Know Its Christmas by Band Aid, Last Christmas by Wham, Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Please come home for Christmas by The Eagles, I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus by John Mellencamp, and Baby It's Cold Outside from Neptune's Daughter.
Funky Christmas by The Godfather of Soul, James Brown!
Just reading this email and right now I'm listening to the CD Cool Yule by Bette Midler. It's great and I listen to it every holiday season!!
O Holy Night - Josh Groban
And his whole Christmas album, “Noel”
Hard to answer. Most of my list, I can't identify (recorded them off the radio). And the one I want to find, I can't. It was on a Disney's Christmas album I had in the late 70s. It was by Larry Gross (not Larry Groce who also did Disney songs, or Henry Gross who did Shannon). That album was the best Xmas album I ever had. But, Disney put out so many different ones, it'll never be found again. I just can't find it.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Andy Williams. Lots of great versions out
there but I like his the best
Merry Christmas Baby - Bruce Springsteen
He does a really good version of this song. What happened Springsteen fans?
The Christmas Song, Nat King Cole
Lots of great versions out there but
his is the classic
Christmas All Over Again - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
One of my absolute fav Christmas tunes
Miss him
Me too. Bon Jovi did a cute cover version where at the end he wants a Tom Petty songbook! But nothing tops the original!
Feliz Navidad, Jose Feliciano
The Little Drummer Boy - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
Snoopy’s Christmas, Royal Guardsmen
It was my husband’s fav Christmas tune.
It brings back great memories of our
holidays before he passed away
My husband version of Pleade Come Home for Christmas
A very special Christmas, 1987
Have listened to this every December
since it’s release. One of my favorite
Christmas CD’s
