Yes Metallica rocks it  but I love Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy and that version with Gary Moore is my favorite.

Am so glad to know others appreciate Johnny Winter, especially his blues. He's always been my man.

Currently am listening to Ryan Bingham, wrote The Weary Kind for Crazy Heart. Started searching for everything I could find about him as that song touched my heart. This video on youtube is fun to watch. Some good footage of Marc Ford, former guitarist with the Black Crows, who produced 2 of Bingham's CDs. HIs music originally dubbed as Americana is being steered into the Country genre. I don't care. After watching all video of him I could find, I bought both his CDs.

Cool song.  I went to youtube and listened to Thin Lizzy's version (never heard it before) and then checked out the version by Metallica.  Have you heard that one?  All I can say is wow and I'm going to have to check out more Metallica. LOL

Did you get my message on FB for the Delta Jets?  If so what did you think?

Thanks for the recommendation cause I love the delta blues : )  I will have to check them out.  Also glad you got to hear Johnny Winters.. a legend. 

I found this while looking for something else.  I have never heard it and I was surprised that the cover was good.. because I love Thin Lizzy and nobody sings this like Phil  but this "Elvis" has a great voice and this sounds good.

I'm listening to "The Delta Jets" from Port Washington, Wisconsin.  They were the opening act last night for Johnny Winter.  Good delta blues.

Had an awesome time last night.  These guys were great (bought the CD) and of course, Johnny Winter was awesome!

Have you heard of The Black Keys? I was at a Baltimore Orioles game and heard this great song but didn't know the title or band. I whipped out my iPhone and used the Shazaam app to ID the song. Said it was "Howling for You" by the Black Keys. I bought it on the spot ... and a couple days later bought the entire album.

Check them out. Definitely worth it. Let me know what you think!

Have you heard of David Garrett.  His CD Rock Symphonies was recommended by a friend at work.. she loves it.

Heard about this album a few months ago, just picked it up at the library.

The List, by Roseanne Cash, is based on a list her father (Johnny) gave her of 100 essential American songs. Some I knew, others I don't, but the voice and the musicianship makes this well worth the time. It ain't rock and roll, but rock was never the same after Gram Parsons anyway, so open your mind and listen to some of your roots.
