Now I am reminded of the many rock and rockabilly bands I've watched where someone is slapping out good rhythms on such a bass. And my incipient dementia won't let me remember the names so I can listen again! I need a music database to keep track of these!

Dengue Fever is still with us and has a new album out. They played a live set at KEXP (KEXP is a great source for discovering new music!) that was just posted today on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO7XAyJfunU) A great session, I listened to the whole set. (the optics of these guys remind me a bit of when I went to a bar in St. Louis sometime in 1985 to see my favorite local New Wave band (Times Beach) but I had the week wrong and it was some rough-looking country guys instead. I wasn't looking forward to their set. But when they first off played Little Red Corvette in a stunning cover I was impressed and stayed! Sometimes you just can't tell a book by the cover.)

Here's one that's "new to me". I was introduced to this by my Google speaker; it would play this consistently after I requested a particular song that seemed to have no connection to this one. It took me a couple months to track this down and I couldn't believe that it was a Tommy James song from the 1960's! i love exploring new music (or old music that is new to me) via YouTube and other means, all different types. I also like watching visuals... videos of live musicians or music videos such as became popular with MTV. I will post two such tracks now:

First, a Korean popular musician, Sumin. I love the song and am entranced with the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzAEArqspp8

Second, a newer trio that plays one of my favorite genres, Cumbia (Mexican and Central/South American rock). These guys "rock". Name is La Lom and it took me forever to find out this comes from "Los Angeles League of Musicians", Love these guys. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FWmMVAxueU
